Great experience! - Egypt was quite an experience! The food was great especially the second stop!! Sally, our guide, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the places we saw and the food. This was the only food tour that took us to each stop in a van rather than walking and for us that was the only negative. We’d definitely recommend.

Delicious Experience - What an amazing adventure. Momo and Sally were so communicative, and Sally made sure that we had the best experience, every place we stopped was delicious, and we had so much fun!

Better than the Pyramids: Great food and Education. - Absolutely wonderful day in Alexander! It was the highlight of Egypt even better than the trip to the Pyramids! We ended up going seven rounds of food and drinks eating with locals! The couple hours we spent today on the tour taught us more about Modern Egypt with Momo. At the first we were against liver and Alexander Liver was one of our favorites.

Highly recommended Alexandria food tour! - This is a great excursion in Alexandria for cruise ship visitors that are interested in seeing Alexandria safely and enjoying delicious Egyptian cuisine from a local perspective. We had a great time and tasted so many different items that we were completely stuffed by the end of the tour and couldn’t eat another bite! We also visited some interesting non-food related sites (ex. visited a beautiful mosque), and we visited a nice store where we had the opportunity to buy souvenirs from Alexandria, in a calm (and air conditioned) environment, if desired. This was a great way for us to get out into the city of Alexandria without paying for an expensive cruise excursion or trying to navigate the busy city on our own. Our children enjoyed this activity as well. We highly recommend this tour!

Great and delicious - Momo was great. We zipped through the downtown area and managed to eat at 8 different stops. They were filling. Carb on carb. But tried dishes that you'd typically find in egypt. Stops can vary and he asks what you like to eat and are interested in. So my experience could be different. We tried, falafel, koshary, fried mixed shawarma, Egypt sweet pie almost like a baked crepe in sugar/milk, ice cream, drinks (tamarino?), liver sandwiches, and one other dessert. You'll be full by the end of this! Come hungry

A brilliant day in Alexandria - We had an absolutely brilliant day with Momo , who met us at our hotel and flexibly asked us what we wanted the day to consist of. We wanted to learn about Egyptian food , and taste the flavours rather than eat quantity , and understand the culture of Alexandria too. We achieved all of that , a cumquat stall , milk & honey , sweet pastries , shawarma , a beautiful mezze style plate , delicious spiced liver in finger rolls , sweet pancakes , and finished off with fresh sugar cane juice. Along the way , we visited some beautiful cultural and religious sites , which were stunning. Don't hesitate with this trip , Momo's English is excellent , he is affable and knowledgeable , and it was worth every penny.

Amazing tour! - Wow what an awesome tour walking, driving and eating my way through Alexandria! Guide Momo is super friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of me while we wandered the streets and alleys of the city. The food was amazing and the highest quality. You can choose between sit down restaurants, take out and sidewalk food carts. I did a little of each. The tour is customizable so at one point I saw an interesting area full of small alleys with lots of stores. Momo took me walking through there and it was a fascinating slice of city life. We ended the tour visiting a large and beautiful mosque. I want to give a shoutout to the driver Ahmed. Driving through Alexandria is very challenging but he did it flawlessly. I give this tour and the people who run it the highest marks.

We tasted many different foods and also went to a mosque and a Jewish synagogue. Momo was very knowledgeable and his English was very good. Excellent tour!

A must do while in Alexandria! - Our tour guide, Mahmoud, was excellent and immersed us in the Egyptian culture. He shared many traditional Egyptian dishes with us as we toured the city. He was very accommodating and worked with us regarding how adventurous we wanted to be regarding the food. We typical don’t eat liver or sweet breads, so those weren’t on our menu. However, if you enjoy those foods plus other more adventurous foods, Mahmoud will find it for you! He was also willing to take us to the museums and other tourists spots. So, come prepared with a personalized itinerary to fill your time and be ready for Mahmoud to tell you all the facts about the amazing sights and tastes of this wonderful city: Alexandria! Thanks, Mahmoud for a wonderful day! Cheers!

Rocky Start, Smooth Ending - Our Alexandria food tour on 11 May 2025 started off very rocky. We thought we were being picked up inside the port but actually had to walk approximately ½ mile (800 meters) to meet our guide. We had no issues with walking but wished we had known in advance as we had two individuals who have trouble walking long distances. The start time of our tour was 2:30pm but due to our original driver getting into an accident on the way to pick us up our tour started at approximately 3:30pm. We learned about the accident only after contacting Momo (Travelish Tours Egypt Operation Manager) when the van didn’t show up at the agreed upon time. After meeting the driver outside the gate to the port, he didn’t appear to know where to go and had to call for guidance. We assume this was because he was the replacement driver and thought we were going on a different tour. Once the logistics were ironed out, we were joined by Marwa and things started looking up. Although not originally assigned to our tour, Marwa put everyone at ease and the tasting began. We started with fava bean and falafel with bread, then moved on to koshari, and then chicken and beef shawarma. Liver was up next but we all declined since none of us were liver fans. Portions were very large enough to share. Half way through the tour, Marwa departed and we were joined by Momo, who apologized profusely for the lack of communication and misunderstandings. He then took us to enjoy some sweet and salty treats (e.g. sweet basbousa, feteer meshaltet), coffee, and conversation. To ensure we left on a positive note, Momo allowed time for souvenir shopping. I would book this tour again but keeping clients updated if issues arise would need to be better communicated. Big thanks to Marwa for jumping in on such short notice.
