Local Alexandria - We had a fantastic tour of Alexandria! Momo is a great tour guide. Despite scheduling difficulties because of a national holiday, he worked hard to show us around his city. He also personalized the tour to fit our interests. He was very knowledgeable and made several excellent food suggestions. He was able to help us experience a truly local Alexandria. We would absolutely recommend a tour with him.

Fantastic streetlevel tour of downtown area, great guide - This type of private tour depends on the guide, and with Momo we had the best. He listened to what we wanted to see, suggested sites we had not thought of, and provided an interesting commentary of everything we saw. We went to sites we would not have thought of (Italian Coptic church), to sites still under construction, but important to see in the future (Greek Roman museum), and to the oldest pastry shop in Alexander (1927) where we enjoyed pastacio cakes. We highly recommend Momo as your guide; you will have a customized trip to remember.

Excellent Service with Mo! - Mo is such an amazing guide! My husband and I did the walking tour with him and we just loved him and fell in love with Alexandria because of him. He was very flexible and understanding of our changing schedule because of travel mishaps. He was extremely accommodating. He explained everything very well and he added the tour to the catacombs last minute, although it was not part of the walking tour. In the evening he also showed us the bibliotheca. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about Egyptian and Alexandrian history and culture! Highly recommend him to anyone visiting Alexandria.

5-star rating for Walk like an Egyptian -Alexandria - Excellent day spent in Alexandria. Mohammed Adel Omar, Egyptologist was our guide for the day. We had a slight delay due to a flat tire but were on our way shortly after 8 a.m. as it is a 3 hour drive to get to Alexandria. We stopped mid-way for a bio break and coffee. During the drive we received a great overview of Egypt gods and dynasties. When you are hearing and talking about a country that goes back 4000 years there is never a shortage of conversation. The tour in Alexandria covered the fabulous library, catacombs and the Roman ruins. Mohammed is a very experienced guide and was able to provide great knowledge of the sites. The day was wrapped up with a great late lunch overlooking the Mediterranean which set us up for the 3 hour trip back to Cairo. A long day but well worth it. Thanks, Mohammed, for making our first day so rewarding.

A great way to discover Alexandria - I took this tour with Mo who showed with a lot of passion his hometown, shared it’s history through this walking tour. His connections made it possible to enter some sights, normally closed, like the synagogue (newly renovated), the Greek-Orthodox church. Just don’t forget to take your passport with you. Highly recommend this if you want something different than a classic city tour on a bus!

Great tour in Alexandria - I really enjoyed walking around Alexandria with Momo, we had some tasty street food and Egyptian tea. We saw important sights such as the Library of Alexandria, the famous Al Qaaed Ibrahim Mosque, Nabi Danyal street with its stalls selling used books at low prices. It was lovely to see the skyline by the Corniche too! We also explored the less known streets which still have a lot to say about the city's daily life. Raml Station Square is the perfect meeting point where you can experience the bustle of this ancient city. Momo is so welcoming that you easily blend into the crowd and you can truly feel like a local!

Horrible!! - Honestly the worst walking tour we have ever experienced! The guy didn’t have an agenda for us and kept joking “we are guiding him”. That threw us off the whole day since we are the tourist asked to be guided by purchasing this tour. Then has we walk through neighborhoods, which we told him we already visited. He didn’t say anything unless we asked a question and his answers provide zero context or valuable information (basically answers like that’s just what it is). Any time he would give us valuable information it was late (we went to the mosque and after we left he mentioned a tomb so we just missed it). He also completely disregarded a travelers peanut allergy when we wanted him to explain the allergy to the restaurant. That was the final straw and we just went back to the hotel. Don’t book this tour!!! Hosam was horrible!
