Next, experience Pompey’s Pillar, an awe-inspiring column of 28 meters erected in the third century in tribute to Emperor Diocletian, who liberated Alexandria during a famine. Then, delve into the Catacomb of Kom Al Shukafa, the vastest Roman burial ground carved into bedrock, reaching down 100 feet and dating back to the early second century, showcasing a fusion of Pharaonic and Roman designs.
