Comfortable bus, great... - Comfortable bus, great day tour, guide at Matera was very good. We were on our own in Alberobello and don't feel a guided tour was needed there, but definitely needed in Matera. Next time we will do a full day in Matera as there's so much to see there.

Beautiful day trip, fantastic organization!! - Organization: 150%!! Sights: 80% Easy way to see two beautiful towns. Beware, Alberobello is PACKED with people, like Disneyland in the summer. Impossible to get around without a million people in the way. Matera had lots of people but not nearly as crowded as Alberobello, and is absolutely stunning!! Busses were comfortable and cooled. Organization was fantastic! Busses left on time, we weren't stuck waiting 45 minutes for stragglers. I, in fact, missed the bus in the morning and the team was amazing and found a solution for me to make the trip anyway.

There won't be much time... - There won't be much time to eat, so it's a good idea to bring snacks with you. But it didn't bother us... the trip would have been too long if there had been long meal breaks. The information was clear, e.g. before the trip a whatsapp-message with a picture of where the bus leaves from. Great trip and both guides in Alberobello and in Matera were magnificent!

Long day to see Alberobello and Matera - Doing two tours in one day sounded like a great idea, but was long and exhausting. If your time is limited and you want to see both, it is worth it. Just be prepare for lots of walking (7 miles total) up and down hills and stairs. Alberobello is touristy and without a guide we wandered a bit, but that was ok. We enjoyed the view of the houses. Tour suggested we eat there before going to Matera. Good suggestion because with the Matera tour there was no time. Matera is fascinating. Tour was very good. Guide was very knowledgeable but lots of walking with many stairs. Opportunity to go into a cave home was worth the extra euros. Not to be missed! We did get time to have a snack (great bakery in the square) before getting back on the bus to be returned to pickup location.

Alberobello and Matera - Enjoyed the two towns very much. The bathroom break at Matera was too long-20 min. Or more. We should not have to pay to use the facilities, I think. Some personal time was good to have. Finally got a snack in Matera. Both guides were good, but Stella needed to round up the participants sooner, I think. The Italian group was late to our departure and made us miss our bus to our next hotel. I could tell the driver was upset at that group. All my other tours, the groups have been on time. The olive oil tasting was the best. The proprietor was knowledgable and funny.

Beautiful Ancient Cities unprofessional tour company - The bus was conveniently located by Bari's Old Town and was an easy way to travel to both locations in 1 day. The guided tour in Alberobello included important extras like a tour of a Trujlli house (extra $2E) and a tasting of olive oils, jam, and balsamic vinegars, but was very short and did not include narration of the church and the other 4 sights on the list. Also, she left after the tasting and we were given directions back to bus. We finished on our own and it was lovely. I'm Matera the guide started of fantastic and then it rained 1/2 way through the tour and he said the tour was over! He gave us the worst directions back to the bus but it was another 1 1/2 hours to board anyway. We really wanted to see the cave church but did not get to it. Then on the way back the bus broke down and we were delayed 1 1/2 hours. When the replacement bus came we were not given any refund.

Disappointing and not worth the money. - I would not call this a "private bus tour" as no guide rode the buses with us. There were facilitators at the meeting point, who divided people according to what level of tour they signed up for, filling four coach buses. They then stayed in Bari. If you signed up for a guide, you met one at each stop. The group was way too big for the guides to be without speaker or radio with headset. Especially at Matera, we could not hear our guide, even as we tried to position ourselves closer to her.
