Cuenca - Ingapirca - Alausi Village - Riobamba

Ingapirca Archaeological Complex - 07:00 am - After breakfast, the tour guide will pick up the group to travel 1.5 hours north to visit the Ingapirca complex, regarded as the most significant and best-preserved archaeological site in Ecuador. Here, the tour guide will share insights about the Cañari and Inca cultures.

Alausi - Following the visit to Ingapirca, the journey continues to Alausi, where a walking city tour around the village and the train station awaits. The trip from Cuenca offers stunning Andean landscapes and several stops for photography, especially at the Devil’s Nose mountain viewpoint.

Laguna de Colta - Afterward, there will be time for lunch before traveling to Riobamba. En route, the group will visit Balbanera Church, the oldest church in Ecuador, and Colta Lagoon. Overnight accommodation will be at an estate near Riobamba.

Riobamba - After exploring Colta and Balbanera Church, the group will travel an additional 45 minutes to reach Riobamba city for an overnight stay.

Riobamba - Chimborazo - Salasaca - Baños de Agua Santa

Baños - 08:00 am - After breakfast, the group will travel 1 hour to visit Chimborazo, the highest snow-capped mountain in Ecuador. A pleasant hike from 4800 masl to 5000 masl is available, with an option for a shorter trail for those who prefer.

Salasaca Mercado Artesanal - After Chimborazo, a 2-hour journey leads to a small yet vibrant indigenous market of the Salasaca people, showcasing a variety of handmade accessories. The visit to this market will last 20 minutes.

Baños - Pujilí - Tigua - Quilotoa

Pujilí - After breakfast, the group will head to Pujilí town to visit the charming central park. Then, the journey continues to Tigua, a small community where most residents farm the mountain slopes and valleys, herding sheep and llamas and cultivating crops. This visit offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of Andean communities.

Quilotoa - Finally, the group will visit Quilotoa Lake, considered by many as the most beautiful place in Ecuador. Here, participants can walk to the lake’s bottom and rent a horse for the ascent ($10 extra charge). Alternatively, a partial walk around the crater rim is available.

The group will then travel to Latacunga for an overnight stay at the assigned hotel.

Latacunga - After visiting Quilotoa, a 1.5-hour journey will take the group to Latacunga city for an overnight stay.

Latacunga - Tanicuchi - Cotopaxi - Quito

Tanicuchi - After breakfast, the group will visit a beautiful rose plantation to learn about the local rose export industry. Experts claim Ecuador produces the finest roses in the world.

Cotopaxi National Park - The next stop is Cotopaxi National Park, where the group will walk around Limpiopungo Lake. If the weather is clear, there will be time to enjoy the scenery of one of Ecuador’s highest and most active volcanoes.

Quito - After visiting Cotopaxi and having lunch, a 2-hour journey will bring the group to Quito, marking the end of services.

Mindo Cloud Forest and Mitad del Mundo

Mindo - Exclusively for those who chose the 5 DAYS TOUR OPTION, an early morning 2-hour trip from Quito to Mindo includes a visit to a butterfly farm and birdwatching, featuring many species of hummingbirds and other birds. The tour also includes an excellent chocolate tour, highlighting Ecuador’s world-renowned cacao plants.
