- Giza Plateau - Begin at 8:00 am with a pickup from your Cairo hotel by our knowledgeable tour guide. You will then be transported to Giza City in a private air-conditioned vehicle to start your day tour. Visit the Giza Pyramids, where you will see the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Cheops is the largest pyramid ever constructed. Next, visit the Valley Temple, where mummification took place, and get a close-up view of the Sphinx, a grand funerary complex guarded by the legendary lion body with the face of King Chephren. The pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx are among the world’s most famous tourist attractions, even during Roman times. Each of these magnificent structures served as the final resting place for a king of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), and the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson.
- Great Sphinx - Then visit The Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the vast funerary complex with its lion body and the head of King Chephren.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were discovered in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Others were discovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
- Cairo Citadel - Then visit The Citadel of Saladin, where you will see the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as The Alabaster Mosque.
- Khan Al-Khalili - Conclude your day tour with a visit to Khan El Khalili Bazaars. Shops in this district are renowned for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques, etc. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
There is an option to enter any of the pyramids, visit the solar boat of King Cheops, ride a camel around the Giza pyramids, or ride a quad bike in the vast desert or take a Felucca boat ride on the Nile. These activities can be added during the booking process as they require additional fees.
