Absolutely amazing service! - We spent a wonderful day with Sadiq from Murex Tours. Sadiq is an amazing guide and driver, answering all our questions. We had booked the Half Day Tour of Northern Qatar, and managed to see both Al Khor harbour, purple island, Shadows Travelling on the Sea of the Day, and Al Zubarah fort. We drove in a Land Cruiser, and there was water provided - Sadiq also made a pit-stop to let us try the local Karak tea. While it wasn’t included in the original itinerary, Sadiq went out of his way and prolonged the tour so we could visit the Al Zubarah archeological site. We would definitely recommend Murex Tours to any visitors in Qatar.

see, experience, and learn - It was my first visit to the Arabic world - we came to see, experience and learn. The North of Qatar tour had been recommended by my hotel and the tour was fully worthwhile. I saw aspects local modern Qatar life outside the commerce-heavy Doha, as well as cultural heritage sites that helped me imagine the life of Qataris in the past. What made the tour stand out most was the conversation with our fantastic guide Qandeel Bilal, who eagerly answered all my questions and who explained to me the country, its history and its society expertly, openly, and deeply.

Fantastic half day tour in Qatar - What a very enjoyable half day. I learnt so much and enjoyed a great chat and laugh with the guys. They were both extremely knowledgable about absolutely everything related to Qatar. As a lone female, I felt completely safe and would recommend this tour 100%.

Wonderful Northern cities of Qatar Tour - Sadiq, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. My friend and I called him “the professor” because he was able to go into detail about the sites, Qatari culture and way of life, and about the history of the region, including the prominent families (going all the way back to the Ottoman Empire). Aside from the history and the information presented, Sadiq provided a pleasant experience, answering all of our questions, taking excellent, artistic pictures for us, and playing nice, cultural music for us to enjoy on the ride. The tour is a long one and it takes up every bit of the six hours as advertised. So pack some snacks for the road to keep your energy up. Thank you Sadiq for an unforgettable trip out of Doha.

Visit Zubarah Fort and Fishing Town of Al Khor - Shafik is a knowledgeable guide who is a wealth of information about the history and culture in Qatar. He took us to Al Khor as our first stop and showed us the fishing market and fishing boats. We were able to go into the fish shops and view the many varieties of fish that were available on ice. We learned the types of fish and how to identify fresh fish and the female and male crab. We were able to climb on board some of the boats and have a direct experience of how the fishermen transport the fresh catch into the refrigerated trucks. Next stop was Al Shamal to visit Zubarah Fort a recognized archaeological heritage site . We spent time at the site reading about the history and looking at some of the artifacts from the archaeological dig. Shafik filled us in on some of the real history of what occured in the Fort. We watched a spectacular sunset before returning home.
