Our traditional Arabic camp on the shores of Purple Island is equipped with some modern conveniences including running water, showers, and separate restrooms for men and women. Relax with a barbecue supper next to our beach bbq after enjoying the scenery with a cup of karak tea from our viewing deck.

- ⚠️We operate our mangrove experience in shallow water, relying on tide levels to access the channels. During Super High Tide or High Tide, you can explore the mangrove channels extensively. However, during Medium to Low Tide, kayak access may not be possible. In such cases, we conduct the tour in shallower waters near Purple Island, with a possible walk to reach the kayaks. Check the tide level in the Alkhor area or consult our team for the best high tide timings.
- We offer BBQ meals as an optional choice, sourced from third-party catering. They deliver the meals to our campsite in ready-to-eat boxes for your convenience.
- We’re excited to welcome you to our mangrove experience! Here’s a breakdown of our daily schedule: - Morning: 8 am - 10 am - Morning: 10 am - 12 pm - Afternoon: 12 pm - 2 pm - Sunset: 3 pm - 5 pm

Just before reaching Al Thakira you will see a Woqod petrol station and an Al Meera supermarket on your right. Turn right just before Al Meera and follow this round about 3 km until you see an AquaSports sign on your right side.

The best school trip - This destination is one of our top adventures for the school trips. It was very well organised; the students had a very educational enjoyable time. We did as well as teachers.
Highly recommended as an exceptional experience.

Amazing experience - The guide, Mr Google, was enthusiastic and managed all abilities well. Although it was a low tide the day we attended. Mr Google made all efforts to extend our time so we could catch a higher tide and experience the mangroves. Paddling through the mangroves in the dark was one of the most amazing experiences and a highlight of our trip to Qatar, a welcome break from the city too. Make sure you check the tides before booking though as this really has a major effect on your experience and I don’t think is highlighted enough in the advertising.

Never miss opportunity - This was a great experience. it worth going there. The trip was as it was explained. The staff was very cooperative and very well knowledgeable. They are very supportive. Those who have not done Kayaking, this is the best place to start. and especially family. Even the kids can enjoy. My 3 year old child was able to enjoy this. So don't miss the opportunity while you are in Qatar.

We will be back..... - This is our 5th expedition with Aquasports and it gets better each time! Seamless, stress free booking via the portal and great communication on revised timings to suit the tide and wind. We were a group of ladies and thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Google (our guide for the evening) was brilliant. He was eloquent and detailed in safety briefing, explanations of the area/towns/mangroves and helped spot wildlife. He was patient with us (Lol) and kept us laughing.
Aquasports is THE only mangrove kayaking experience company we'll ever book with. Till the next trip, hopefully in 3 weeks!
And thanks for helping the mangrove by picking up plastic along the way.

Great way to spend a Friday 🛶 - Three friends and I booked the "Ramadan Special" kayaking trip. On arrival, we were given the equipment and taken to the water's edge. We then kayaked through the beautiful mangroves and were given interesting information about the local area and an opportunity to take photos on the sand bank. We then kayaked to the coast of Purple Island and were given another opportunity for photos and information about the habitat. We then had another paddle where we saw the start of the sunset and had time for more photos. Our tour guide, Goggle, was very helpful and informative, as well as a great photographer! After, we were given time to freshen up and then ate a tasty iftar meal by the campfire. A great way to spend a Friday and it was very smooth and well organised.

Getaway at purple island - I enjoyed a kayaking trip to Purple Island, and it was an absolute dream. The camp’s ambiance immediately wraps you in peace, making it the ideal escape. The Aquasport staff are exceptionally attentive and friendly, enhancing the experience with their hospitality.
Kayaking among the mangroves, with the backdrop of birdsong, clear waters, and stunning scenery, was a highlight.
Post-trip, I felt a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. Purple Island is a must-visit for anyone in Qatar or those planning a visit.

We kayaked through the channel. Stopped at purple island. He told us about the crab and the maroon colouring. Amazing!!! - Google was great! He was very patient! Very, informative, good personality! We enjoyed our time in the outdoors of Qatar!

Fun sunny kayaking with a top guide - We had a great time, Google (not the search engine!) was a great guide, he showed us all about the mangroves and Purple Island.
We had two boys with us, who were in tandem kayaks with adults. The initial brief was great for beginners.
