Luxor Sightseeing
Temple of Karnak - A Ramses representative will greet and assist travelers at the Luxor train station. In Luxor, visitors will explore the Karnak Temples, renowned as the greatest example of worship in history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Construction began in the Middle Kingdom and continued into the Greco-Roman Kingdom. Following this, the tour proceeds to the Valley of the Kings, a burial site for many kings. The tombs’ designs evolved from pyramid shapes to rock-cut tombs in the mountains. Next, the tour moves to the Valley of the Queens, home to ancient Egyptian tomb masterpieces, including that of Nefertari, wife of Ramses II, and then to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh to rule ancient Egypt. In the evening, travelers will be transferred back to Luxor station to return to Cairo by first-class sleeper train.
Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings (Arabic: وادي الملوك Wādī al-Mulūk; Coptic: ϫⲏⲙⲉ, romanized: džēme), also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings (Arabic: وادي أبواب الملوك Wādī Abwāb al-Mulūk), is a valley in Egypt where, for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were created for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt).
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - The Temple of Hatshepsut (Egyptian: Ḏsr-ḏsrw meaning “Holy of Holies”) is a mortuary temple constructed during the reign of Pharaoh Hatshepsut of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt. Situated opposite the city of Luxor, it is regarded as a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Its three grand terraces ascend from the desert floor into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. The temple’s dual functions are defined by its axes: on its main east-west axis, it served to receive the barque of Amun-Re during the Beautiful Festival of the Valley, while on its north-south axis, it symbolized the pharaoh’s life cycle from coronation to rebirth. Located at the desert’s edge, 1 km (0.62 mi) east.
