11/03/24 Akureyri Whale Watching - We had an amazing trip going up through Akureyri fjord where we spotted two humpback whales. Even if the period wasn't the best for whale watching we had a great experience even seeing one of them jumping out of water. The crew gave us many informations about those animals and impressed us for the respect they had for these whales during the whole tour. Definitely recommend this experience and this crew!

Respectful whale watching - We had a beautiful trip on the fjord from Akureyri and a humpback known as Camel was first spotted about twenty minutes after setting off. We were able to watch it surfacing and diving many times during our trip. We were impressed by the respect the crew have for the whales and their knowledge about them. Also we are delighted with all the photos they have sent. It meant we could concentrate on watching the whale rather than trying to take photos. Obviously, the end of February isn’t the best time to go whale watching in Iceland, we understand there are many more around in summer. However the team have great local knowledge so there’s still a high chance of seeing humpbacks even on very cold winter days.

🐋 Whaley good!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - We took this trip in the hope that we may just get lucky and catch a glimpse of a whale and we were not disappointed! The captain and crew were great at spotting the whales and allowed us to watch their natural behaviour without causing distress or upset to these amazing creatures! The crew were very informative and friendly to talk to. Onboard you can get drinks and snacks and there are loos. There are multiple viewing areas both inside and outside the boat. During our trip we were fortunate enough to see a humpback breach the water right next to the boat and saw at least two humpbacks and several harbour porpoises. Definitely not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

Beautiful to watch a Humpback whale. - Truly awesome to spend time watching and listening to a hump back whale at the start and end of this tour as well as spotting numerous birds on the fjord. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed a calm and scenic cruise on the fjord. The boat was very comfortable with warm overalls available if required and indoor seating available. Fortunately the weather was great so we stayed outside the whole time and found our own warm layers quite sufficient. The commentary and information provided was great and the tour was very respectful of the wildlife. Bizarrely, the only other tour boat we saw out at the same time was blasting out Celine Dion’s “My heart will go on” . I’m sure we weren’t the only passengers to be relieved when this other boat moved on. There was a hushed awe on this tour, everyone pointing to where the whale had surfaced and listening to the sounds of it blowing and diving.

Excellent tour with experienced guide. - I had booked this tour on the day I arrived in Akureyri and was not disappointed as we saw two humpback whales within 10 minutes into the Fiord. We had excellent commentary from the tour guide and she also took pictures which were available to us. Well worth booking this tour if your in Akureyri.
