• Godafoss - A 45-minute drive from Akureyri leads to the Godafoss waterfall (Goðafoss in Icelandic), renowned as one of Iceland’s most breathtaking and historically significant waterfalls. Its name translates to the “waterfall of the gods.” The waterfall stands approximately 12 meters (36 feet) tall and spans 30 meters (90 feet) wide, forming a horseshoe shape that creates a mesmerizing display of water and mist. Visitors will have around 45 minutes to explore this natural marvel, capture stunning photographs, and perhaps enjoy a coffee at the Godafoss Coffee Shop.
• Fnjoskadalur - Following the visit to the waterfall, the journey continues back to Akureyri (a 50-minute drive) via a different route. The drive passes through the picturesque Fnjoskadalur Valley, ascending the mountains and descending to Eyjafjordur Bay, offering breathtaking views. Eyjafjordur Bay is Iceland’s longest bay, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains.
