Amazing once in a lifetime experience - I recommend going early, making a day of it, afterwards enjoying a drink or snacks at the beachfront restaurants with the most beautiful ocean view. the company immediately contacted me and offered to organize transport for our large group which was a way better deal than what our resort offered. Everything was easy, and out in the open. No surprise fees!

Excellent - Our guide, Santiago, was amazing. We saw many turtles, 2 stingrays and a lot of fish. We will definitely do this again next time

Fun snorkel w turtles - Meetup was easy, met at entrance by one person, had the option of park/walk in or drive in to the lot by the beach for 100 pesos. Escorted to beach and met guide. He spoke good English and was excellent at pointing out the fish, rays and turtles. Water was pretty calm and it was an easy swim. Fantastic experience, would do again

Swimming with turtles in Akumal - The trip was well worth it. Saw at least 4 turtles (one almost swam into me), several schools of fish and a few stingrays. Eddie, our guide was amazing. Funny, knowledgeable and patient.

This excursion was great.... - This excursion was great. Manny was a great guide who showed us many sea turtles, a couple of sting rays and an abundance of reef fish.

Great guide, saw a few... - Great guide, saw a few turtles really close and a stingray and some fish. Great 1 hour tour. Don’t go on a day that the water is windy/rocky as it’s difficult to swim. They do their best to keep the turtles sanctuary safe and well kept.

Cheeto is a super snorkeling guide - Cheeto/Jose was a super guide. He first took us to the sea grass area where we were able to see clearly several sea turtles with companion fish. Cheeto then guided us to deeper water where we saw stingrays, schools of fish, and variety of colorful tropical fish -- parrot fish, fish with black stripes, etc. The experience was spectacular for us -- many years ago, we had seen such fish when snorkeling, and we thought that we would never have this opportunity again. Cheeto made it possible! He guided us to the best areas, and he pointed out rays and other great things to see. We sincerely appreciate his expertise, patience, care, and good sense of humor.

Enchanting and educational - While the beach was extremely busy when we went in the afternoon, our guide (I think his name was Carlos, but I’ve met so many people on this trip I can’t recall for sure) did a great job of both educating us on the turtles and other marine life and the local ecosystem in general, and of finding marine life, including turtles for us to see. He also did a great job keeping tabs on the group despite the presence of numerous other groups and the fairly large search area. Speaking of numerous other groups, I imagine it’s pretty stressful for the turtles to be surrounded by so many people while they are just trying to go about their business, but Akumal Ecological Guided placed a lot of emphasis on ensuring that we give the turtles space to do their thing, and I think they are to be commended for that. I highly recommend this activity but hope that if you choose to go you remember that you are a guest in the turtles’ habitat and treat them with the respect they deserve.

Amazing - The tour was amazing and my guide was very nice and helpful through the whole tour. Enjoyed seeing the turtles and stingrays would recommend!

Great adventure - Seeing the turtles in their natural habitat was very awesome. It was just hard because there were so many people around you with all the different tour groups. It was also very hard to find parking and where to meet.
