Family trip - It was a good family day out. The only thing is to bring repellent as there are a lot of mosquitos as it's in like a jungle setting

A Sanctuary of Care and Learning - Visiting the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary was a deeply enriching experience that not only delighted but also educated our group about wildlife conservation efforts in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our knowledgeable guide, Adolfo, whose passion for the animals and dedication to their well-being was evident throughout the tour. Adolfo guided us through the sanctuary, explaining the stories of the animals and the importance of re-introduction programs for species like monkeys, birds, and snakes. The sanctuary itself is thoughtfully designed, providing ample space for the animals to roam in habitats that closely mimic their natural environments. We were able to observe several species up close, including playful monkeys swinging from branches, colorful birds perched in their aviaries, and majestic zebras grazing peacefully. What impressed us most was the sanctuary's commitment to education. Adolfo patiently answered our questions and shared insights into the daily care routines and the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and reintroduce animals into the wild where possible. It was heartwarming to learn about the positive impact of the sanctuary's work on both individual animals and broader conservation efforts in the region. Overall, our visit to the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary was unforgettable, offering a blend of wildlife encounters, educational opportunities, and a deeper understanding of animal welfare issues in Mexico. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an animal lover, or simply curious about conservation efforts, this sanctuary is a must-visit. We left feeling inspired and grateful for places like this that prioritize the well-being of animals and promote awareness of their importance in our ecosystem.

ATV ride, seanote adventure and animal encounter - We rode ATVs and they were very helpful to teach us how to ride them. We got to visit the seanote and that was really cool. We enjoyed going in the water after being warm on the ATV. Then when we came back from the ride we got to learn about the animals they have there. We did upgrade our package to be able to hold a parrot and monkey. That was really neat. I would highly recommend this tour. They were all very nice and helpful. We felt very safe as well. We also got picked up and dropped off at our hotel.

Very good experience - This was a good experience. We have been on several ATV's and this one was just OK. The reason why I read that that is it. It was incredibly dusty they could have definitely added water to the road to make it better. The first half of the trip was not very interesting. Just a very, very dusty road with no scenery. The second half was more interesting, and very bumpy, which they were us about. The highlight of the trip was getting to the cenote which was refreshing and super beautiful. When we returned, it was a very confusing because they just let us sit there for about 10 to 15 minutes without any instruction even though we knew we were are going into the animal sanctuary. Thankfully because it was so dusty, they had showers, but all we could do is rinse off. No soap. The animal sanctuary was super interesting variety of animals from the jungle, but they kind of brushes through it, which is disappointing, because we are at the end of the line and we could not hear their explanations or see as much as we wanted to. I think it was because our group was so large and we were a group with a bunch of other people. There are probably 20 of us in the group. my recommendation to this company is to make the group smaller especially if you're paying more for the animal sanctuary experience It was also a bit of a disappointment as we had to pay $70 for the photos on top of the my little$35 per person for the additional monkey experience. Overall, I think a great experience, but it was very expensive for what you got and I was disappointed that we had to pay additional tips for the ATVs and the tour of the sanctuary. I get the people need to make money and get tips but overall I feel like they've been closed more than what it cost.

Great tour - The tour and monkey sanctuary was great highly recommend! I am giving it a one star review because I paid for a transfer to and from my hotel through the sanctuary But my driver stoped and picked up some random construction guy and pulled over in the middle of the high way to let him out !! Nothing special - Normal place, very expensive price. We are in Mexico, we had asked that the language during the visit be Spanish, but after an initial promise that they would use English and Spanish they spoke for 15 minutes in English and 10 seconds in Spanish 🤬 For some photos we paid 50 dollars which, added to the almost 200 we paid for the entry of two people, makes a total of 250 dollars. We were two groups for a total of about 30 people, in the end the guide made a very moving speech asking for more money! The classic “I keep a family”… Honestly it seems a bit much to me. Don't tell me that I'm for the recovery of animals, because we didn't see anything more than a small zoo, with a monkey show.

Mistake not to be repeated. - Rather than a sanctuary, I would call it a tourist-catching mini zoo. Monkeys locked up in small spaces and the only one they let you come into "contact" with is tame. They tell you that you can't bring anything into the cage (cell phones and other things...) and then they come in with cameras and video cameras to make you buy photos and videos for the total price of €70. Very high ticket price and not at all justified. We will not recommend it to anyone.
