• Valle dei Templi - The tour begins at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. This UNESCO World Heritage site features a collection of Doric Temples from the Hellenic period, remarkably well-preserved. Visitors entering the archaeological site will feel as though they have traveled back in time, easily envisioning the elegance and sophistication of the Hellenic era. Notable monuments in the park include the Temple of Zeus, the largest; the Temple of Heracles, the oldest; the Temple of Concordia, the best-preserved Doric sanctuary globally, having been converted into a Christian sanctuary; the Temple of Juno; and the Temple of Dioscuri, a symbol of Agrigento. The area also boasts the Agorà from the Greco-Roman age, mosaic floors, ancient aqueducts in the Hellenic Roman residential areas, and early Christian basilicas.
• Agrigento - Lunch break. The driver will take you to a restaurant of your choice for a meal before continuing the tour.
• Villa Romana del Casale - The second stop is Piazza Armerina. This charming town, surrounded by forests, woods, and natural reserves, features a splendid Baroque historical center dominated by the impressive Cathedral and the renowned Villa Romana del Casale. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a magnificent rural residence that belonged to a member of the Roman senatorial aristocracy. The villa’s allure is primarily due to its stunning floor and wall mosaics, which depict the lifestyle of its owner. The African art influences are evident in the stylistic elements. The decorations showcase different styles and narrative cycles: one focused on mythology and epic poems, and the other on nature and scenes from the daily life of the Roman aristocracy.

This mystical place bursting with beauty is truly unforgettable. Just a short distance away from Agrigento lies the Scala dei Turchi, which roughly translates to ‘Turkish Steps’. This striking formation of radiant white rock that appears to rise out of the pristine sea as if a series of giant steps, offers a unique walking experience on its gently sloping surface overlooking the sea. Please be aware that while the driver can provide general information during the travel, he is not a tour guide and therefore, will not accompany you on the visits.
