Great tour around Ethipia - I was recommended by a friend to take a tour with Minalu, and the experience was very good. 11 days along omo valley, Bale national park and awasa. The driver Chaku and guide Siraj were so profesional during the tour that couldn’t be better. They were open to all my request and made all posible for making me happy. We were a team. Well done guys. The days at the villages and then the wildlife searching were super Amazing. We visited 9 tribes with lovely local people, good photo opportunities, the same with birds, monkeys and other animals. The only thing I would change for the next time is the local guide at Bale national park, it seemed he did not like to wake up early for looking for birds, and everybody knows that you should be at the place as early as posible, and he wanted to start at 8 pm. The food were delicious, with a mix of hotel and local meals. Coffee several times a day came with very friendly talks. A couple of nights at not so good hotels we had, but it was the only possible accommodation in yabelo, that’s what ethiopia sometimes offer. I could even attend to the bull jumping ceremony (the guide was everyday checking where and when it was going to be celebrated) If you did not decide yet, go with Minalu.

Omo Valley Tribes - This experience made me feel very emotional in a good way. We learned a lot about all three tribes we visited thanks to our guides Minalu, Ermi and the driver, they made a pretty good team. It was a really meaningful trip full of culture, traditions, amazing views and local food. I totally recommend this!

The best! - We did 11 days Omo Valley tour. It was perfect from the beginning until the end. Contact was always - before and during the trip - perfect. Chebera Churchura National Park via Jimma - I am currently in Ethiopia on a humanitarian visit to Jimma. Prior to travelling to Ethiopia I searched for tours around Jimma and didn’t find any. Online I found Top Omo Valley Tours in Addis Ababa and contacted the principal person there - Minalu. Minalu was quick to respond and organised a follow up phone call. We looked at a few options and given my time limits decided on the Chebera Churchura National Park. Minalu sent me a fully inclusive program with my requirements and price that I found reasonable in Australian standards. I made a bank transfer and Minalu informed me when he had received the money. As planned his agent in Jimma contacted me and his Driver in Jimma ( Berhanu) arrived on the clock. There were no hidden costs and when I got to the park safari lodge - all was paid for ( room, meals, armed park ranger to escort me). The driver organised by Minalu in Jimma is called Birhanu and was excellent. A cheerful chap with a positive can do attitude who speaks several local languages and knew people all along the way. We had multiple stops along the 3.5 hour journey from Jimma to Chebera Churchura. I found him honest and reliable - was up before dawn so I could get photos in the morning light. The park itself was beautiful though the road construction in the middle of the park was noisy and disruptive. The animals are visible from a distance so it’s a different experience to savanna Sadari. I did walk on foot in one place got with 30 meters of an elephant and we backed off. The Chebera safari lodge was clean and served good food. They had wine but if you want coke or beer this has to be ordered in advance. The staff were very kind and accomodating . In summary - I have enjoyed Ethiopia, Jimma and the journey to the Chebera Churchura National Park. I have no hesitation in recommending Minalu at the Top Omo Valley Tours. In Jimma if you need a driver I would ask Minalu to organise Birhanu who was excellent.

Omo Valley Winner! - My tour of the Omo Valley with Top Omo Valley Tours out of Jinka was OUTSTANDING! Minalu, the owner of Top Omo Valley Tours was extremely accommodating. My guide, Ermias, was informative and great to spend time with. The village visits were good, but the ad hoc encounters were even better.

Omo Valley tour from Jinka - Top Omo Valley Tours were brilliant and actually exceeded my expectations. I did the Omo Valley tour from Jinka with Ermiyas and Bereket and they were so great, so fun, humorous and absolutely looked after me, as a solo female traveller. As a photographer, they were patient with me and pointed out a few extra places and faces that I’d like. Minalu had great communication all the way through booking and up to the day of departure, being so kind as to easily change my plans when I had a flight cancellation. Would absolutely recommend for an immersive, safe and informative trip to the beautiful tribes of the Omo Valley. Hopefully I can get back again soon - thanks guys!

By far our best Ethiopian guide - We book our Ethiopian tour with 3 different guides. One for the north, Minalu for Omo Valley and one guide for Bale Mountains. Even before we arrived I asked a lot of questions regarding the unrest in the north in the Amhara region. I wanted objective info from my 2 guides from the south. Minalu called friends he knew in the areas we wanted to visit in the North just to give us reliable and correct info. Thank you for that Minalu. When we finally arrived for our Omo Valley tour starting out of Jinka we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Not only is he well respected by all the tribes he is also a very knowledgeable, friendly person who is interested at learning as much from the traveler as sharing his knowledge and info about the region and the tribes with his clients. We really enjoyed that very much and misses our conversations. Nothing was too much and being with Minalu was more like being with a friend rather than a guide. If you want a great, professional but also personal tour to the tribes we can recommend Minalu from Top Omo Valley Tours whole heartedly. It will be difficult to find a better guide.

The lifetime experience you never knew you needed! - Omo valley is so rich in culture, traditions, nature and spirituality. Minalu and his kind, professional and laid-back persona makes sure you get the best experience possible out of your trip, no matter how short or long it is. I recommend at least 6 days in Omo valley in order to see all the villages and tribes. Is a huge territory and so much to explore. Be prepared and open to have the experience of a lifetime! Needless to say that it is super safe to travel around this area, and the tribes are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it to tourists of all ages. The accommodations, meals and transport provided throughout the trip is excellent. Dreaming of Omo Valley - Aloha! I did 8 days with Minalu. Best road trip!!! Minalu has great communication (before/during/after) and easy to get along with. I got to briefly meet his wife/kids which was very sweet. He has good working relationships with all the local guides I had. The journey itself—- I was picked up/dropped off on time at the airport. Really enjoyed everyday on the program. Lodges, local guides, restaurants and coffee stops were all great! Vehicle was comfortable, clean and safe. Always provided bottled water. Traveled long hours and had no problems. Minalu made sure I was not bothered by unwanted locals which is comforting. I got food poisoning in Omo Valley (eating raw vegetable salad) and I was taken cared of as I struggled for 24 hours. As a professional solo female traveler of 16 years I highly recommend Minalu and his tour company. My Omo Valley dream was accomplished and I’ll remember all the great memories we had together. An experience of a Lifetime - Minalu is the best tour guide there is! Highly recommend. I first had to start with that statement because I have never felt so safe and well taken cared of before as a female solo traveler. Minalu is well respected in the Jinka community and his knowledge and hospitality naturally extends to others. Each tribe welcomed me with open arms and without a doubt, I know it was because of Minalu’s presence. The relationships and bonds that he has with the people of the tribe is remarkable. One of my favorite parts of the tour was eating at his local family owned restaurant. My first time tasting injero possibly changed my life for the better. It was so delicious! With this tour, I was able to immerse myself in the culture and learn about the traditions and way of life from the tribes located in the omo valley.
