Additional Information

At 3,200 meters in elevation, Entoto Hill is sort of the roof of Addis Ababa. Driving up the steep road, you’ll pass homes and small villages, highland growth, and as you gain elevation you’ll start to get great views of Addis Ababa (on a clear day). Menelik II built his palace on the Entoto Hill and used it as his headquarters during the founding of Addis Ababa. Towards the top of Entoto Hill is Entoto Maryam Cathedral, or St. Mary’s Church. It’s not the most impressive cathedral, but it’s worth a stop cathedral museum as well. on the way back from Entoto Hill, then afterwards stop by the Shiro Meda market , It’s a friendly market where you can buy all sorts of Ethiopian clothes and local crafts

Emperor Minlik - We had an amazing time we!! Yonas was very knowledgeable, personal able and funny. We got to learn about the rich history of Emperor Minlik and Queen Tutu. We visited the Palace which was considered big during their time; Ethiopia 🇪🇹 has a rich history that’s worth exploring and that requires more than one visit to learn and understand.

Mount Entoto and Addis Ababa Tour with Yonas - Yonas is amazing! I had such a great tour with him during my layover in Addis. We went on an afternoon trip starting at Mt Entoto before going down into the Merkato, ending with dinner at his favourite restaurant. Not only is Yonas great company and super friendly, I learnt so much about Addis and its history. He was also super flexible with timing and what we did did, tailoring it completely to what i wanted and was comfortable with. Reach out to him on +251 91 338 4298 :)

day in Addis Ababa - I was in Addis for a work meeting and only had one day free to see the city. I am so glad that I did the tour and got to experience Addis Ababa. I personally enjoyed the visit to Mount Entoto and the oldest restaurant in Addis, which was cheaper than other busier tourist restaurants offering Ethiopian food. My tour guide Yonas was great and really went out of his way. When we went to the market he helped translate and negotiate prices, and also helped organise that Adisu , the driver, was able to drop me off and fetch me from a meeting on the evening after the tour, which was slightly safer and cheaper than using a cab

Great Hiking Partner in Ethiopia - I met Yonas through this page and had an amazing hiking experience with him. He was prompt in picking me up the next morning, and during our hike, we had engaging conversations about Ethiopian culture. We shared coffee twice, which added to the cultural experience, and the local lunch we had was fantastic. Yonas is friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with advice. I highly recommend him and will definitely reach out to him for my future trips!

Perfect City Tour With Daily Addis ! - We had a layover of 11 hours in Addis Ababa and I did some research upfront to see how we could make best use of our time there instead of spending this long time at the airport. I found Yonas being recommended as a great city guide for Addis. After a few WhatsApp Messages, +251913384298 we found the perfect schedule for our time frame. He picked us up on time at the airport with his super nice driver Adisu. We went straight to the National Museum where he explained us a lot of interesting facts to almost everything shown in the Museum. I am sure that we got 2 times more knowledge of everything there than a common visitor. We really enjoyed the museum even if we usually don’t really go to museums. Next stop was Mount Entoto, the highest point of Addis and the former capital. We faced a stunning view and sunset from up there and super fresh and clean air. Afterwards we went to the famous coffee house, tasting some great local coffee quickly. Last stop was a traditional Ethopian dinner in a truly amazing place where beside of the great food we saw local dances and singers from the different tribes of Ethopia. In the end he brought us back to the airport and we spent the very best layover of our lifetime over there and already decided coming back to Ethopia to explore more of this amazing country. Totally recommend Daily Addis Tours for any tour in and around Addis

Mount Entoto - We took two excursions, a general tour of the city and on this tour. Our driver and guide Yonas was himself . Excursions went completely according to the declared plan, they were enough for a brief acquaintance with Addis Ababa and its environs. Yonas has good English, tells interesting stories, answered all our questions, even tricky ones! We were introduced to the local culture and cuisine, lunch in mount Entoto it was with a gorgeous view of the CITY! Just delight! We recommend! Daily Addis Tours
