Additional Information

Soaring up to 3,200 meters in height, Entoto Hill is considered the ‘ceiling’ of Addis Ababa. As you journey up its steep path, you’ll encounter houses and micro communities, highland flora, and increasingly stunning vistas of Addis Ababa (weather permitting). It was atop Entoto Hill that Menelik II constructed his palace, employing it as a base during Addis Ababa’s establishment. Further up the hill is Entoto Maryam Cathedral, or St. Mary’s Church. Whilst not the most imposing cathedral, it warrants a visit during an ascent up the mountain. A 200 ETB admission fee grants access to the cathedral and its museum. If you decide to hire a taxi for the return journey, we recommend stopping at the Shiro Meda market. This friendly market offers a selection of Ethiopian garments and local handicrafts. Don’t forget to also pay a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to Lucy, the first fully intact human skeleton.

day in Addis Ababa - I was in Addis for a work meeting and only had one day free to see the city. I am so glad that I did the tour and got to experience Addis Ababa. I personally enjoyed the visit to Mount Entoto and the oldest restaurant in Addis, which was cheaper than other busier tourist restaurants offering Ethiopian food. My tour guide Yonas was great and really went out of his way. When we went to the market he helped translate and negotiate prices, and also helped organise that Adisu , the driver, was able to drop me off and fetch me from a meeting on the evening after the tour, which was slightly safer and cheaper than using a cab

Great Hiking Partner in Ethiopia - I met Yonas through this page and had an amazing hiking experience with him. He was prompt in picking me up the next morning, and during our hike, we had engaging conversations about Ethiopian culture. We shared coffee twice, which added to the cultural experience, and the local lunch we had was fantastic. Yonas is friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with advice. I highly recommend him and will definitely reach out to him for my future trips!

Perfect City Tour With Daily Addis ! - We had a layover of 11 hours in Addis Ababa and I did some research upfront to see how we could make best use of our time there instead of spending this long time at the airport. I found Yonas being recommended as a great city guide for Addis. After a few WhatsApp Messages, +251913384298 we found the perfect schedule for our time frame. He picked us up on time at the airport with his super nice driver Adisu. We went straight to the National Museum where he explained us a lot of interesting facts to almost everything shown in the Museum. I am sure that we got 2 times more knowledge of everything there than a common visitor. We really enjoyed the museum even if we usually don’t really go to museums. Next stop was Mount Entoto, the highest point of Addis and the former capital. We faced a stunning view and sunset from up there and super fresh and clean air. Afterwards we went to the famous coffee house, tasting some great local coffee quickly. Last stop was a traditional Ethopian dinner in a truly amazing place where beside of the great food we saw local dances and singers from the different tribes of Ethopia. In the end he brought us back to the airport and we spent the very best layover of our lifetime over there and already decided coming back to Ethopia to explore more of this amazing country. Totally recommend Daily Addis Tours for any tour in and around Addis

Mount Entoto - We took two excursions, a general tour of the city and on this tour. Our driver and guide Yonas was himself . Excursions went completely according to the declared plan, they were enough for a brief acquaintance with Addis Ababa and its environs. Yonas has good English, tells interesting stories, answered all our questions, even tricky ones! We were introduced to the local culture and cuisine, lunch in mount Entoto it was with a gorgeous view of the CITY! Just delight! We recommend! Daily Addis Tours

Cloudy visit - We started with a visit at the museum near Menelik II palace then we seen the house before going to Entoto park. Sadly it was a cloudy day of rainy season. Whatever, it was interesting, full of details about the living of a figure of ethiopian history. The guide was pleasant, sharing his knowledge till the delicious lunch we had at a pretty simple restaurant. I would recommend.

Fantastic Tour With Adisu - What an amazing tour! I was in Addis for work but had a Saturday free and was anxious to see the city, so I signed up for this tour. It was worth every cent. From 9:30 to 5ish you fit in everything that you could want to do in a day. From seeing local artwork to markets, going to the top of Mt. Entoto and so on. There are plenty of opportunities for snacks and drinks s as well, between the juice bar, the Question Coffee ceremony stop, and the lunch with traditional Ethiopian local Restaurant . The trip ends at the Hotel where the pick up started The guide, Adisu, was fantastic. he was extremely knowledgeable and kept the energy going through the entire day. he also provided some very good restaurant recommendations for near my hotel! Overall 10/10, no notes, would recommen
