Highlights
  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park - Embark on a half/ full day city tour of Accra visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park, final resting place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. The Mausoleum has been visited by many world dignitaries.
  • Independence Square - Stop at the Independence Square, Accra’s open-air ceremonial grounds where all national celebrations are held, for photo opportunity.
  • Accra - Visit the uniquely designed caskets shop where caskets are produced based on the African belief of life after death. Therefore caskets are designed to reflect the earthly profession of the deceased with the belief that they can continue to practice this profession in the other world. Hence a bus driver will be buried in a bus, a teacher in a book, a doctor in a syringe, etc.
  • Accra - Drive through Old Accra which was divided into Dutch and British Accra as a result of the two European nations operating from different locations within the same township of a little under 1sq kilometer. Drive past James Fort built by the British in 1662, Old Accra Square and the Post Office. See Ussher Fort, one of three European forts in Accra which have survived the times.

Trip of a Lifetime - I highly recommend using Hausa Tours! They are knowledgeable and professional coupled with a sincere warmth and friendliness that made me feel like family. I learned about the history, culture, people and present condition of Ghana. I know I could not have developed this deep understanding and appreciation for Ghana without Hausa Tours.
