ARRIVAL IN ACCRA
Brazil House - Upon arrival in Accra, guests will be greeted and assisted with their transfer to the hotel.
Depending on the time of flight arrival, the following attractions may be explored today.
Start the city tour of Accra with a scenic drive through the expansive and picturesque campus of the University of Ghana, Legon.
Visit the Jamestown Community, one of Accra’s most historic neighborhoods, where history is present at every turn. It is renowned for its lighthouses. Although the original structure was destroyed, a larger and improved lighthouse, completed in 1921, remains operational today.
Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Fish Market at the seashore, where fishermen dock their boats and fishmongers sell their fresh catch.
In the late afternoon, visit the Brazil House to learn about the seven Afro-Brazilian families who returned to settle in Ghana in 1836. Familiar Brazilian/Portuguese surnames such as De Souza, Palmares, Azumah, Amorin, Da Costa, Santos, De Medeiros, and Olympio are prevalent in this area of Accra.
The remainder of the day is free for leisure.
ACCRA-CAPE COAST-ELMINA
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park - After breakfast, travel to Cape Coast, stopping en route at Independence Square to see the enclosed flame of African Liberation, ignited by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Ghana’s first president. Set in beautiful gardens, the park includes a museum with photos, artifacts, and insights into Dr. Nkrumah’s life. Continue to Cape Coast, arriving in time for lunch. In the late afternoon, visit Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the departure points for Africans sent to slavery in the Americas. The Castle houses the “Door of No Return.”
This evening, enjoy a guided tour through the historic town of Elmina. At the harbor, observe the colorful fishing canoes preparing to set out to sea for another night of fishing. This is a perfect opportunity for photographers.

ELMINA-KAKUM-ACCRA/DEPART
Kakum National Park - After breakfast, visit Kakum National Park, one of Ghana’s most renowned parks. Take a brief walking tour on the forest floor to see birds, butterflies, and possibly glimpse some of the forest’s over 40 species of mammals, including monkeys and the elusive forest elephant. Kakum is famous for Africa’s only aerial walkway through the tree canopy, a 1000-foot-long, seven-bridge walkway with viewing platforms that reach heights of over 150 feet above the ground.

Guests may visit Global Mama’s for a workshop. Global Mama’s aims to create wealth for African women and their families. Here, guests can design and make a beautiful tie-dye cloth as a souvenir.
Return to Accra in the early evening; the rest of the evening is free for leisure or transfer to the airport for onward flights.
