Seti I ruled around 3,300 years ago, shortly after Tutankhamun. He was the second pharaoh of Egypt’s Nineteenth Dynasty in the New Kingdom period and the father of Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great.

Seti I’s temple was still being built at the time of his death, after a reign of about 11 to 15 years. His son, Ramses II, completed the temple in his father’s honor.

Dorothy Louise Eady, also known as Omm Sety, was the caretaker of the Temple of Seti I in Abydos until her passing in 1981.
