• Abu Simbel Temple Complex - The Abu Simbel Temple’s main highlight is the magnificent sun temple of Ramses II and the temple of Queen Nefertari. Discovered in 1813, both temples were nearly buried in sand. In 1960, with the assistance of the Egyptian government and UNESCO, the temples were relocated to prevent submersion by the Nile’s rising waters. Ramses II constructed the temple primarily to glorify himself, as it features a mural of his renowned victory at the Battle of Kadesh, where his forces triumphed over his foes. To the north of Ramses’ temple lies the Nefertari Temple, built by Ramses II for his beloved wife Queen Nefertari, among his 200 wives and concubines. After the visit, you will be returned to your Aswan hotel in your private air-conditioned vehicle.
