I had never been to an oasis before. It was interesting to see. - We visited the city of Al Ain to visit the palace for a tour and walked through part of the oasis and that was interesting on how a whole city developed around it. I could not believe a whole spring did all of this. The sea of palm trees alone created a forest of trees that was rather thick and you really had to walk down the guided path.

Excellent visit to AlAin - Excellent tour to Al Ain area. Munir was an excellent and safe driver. As there were only two of use on the tour we could not have the lunch and camel market visit. Shame to miss these but was made up by having our own personal guide Munir was enlightening and amusing

An oasis in the desert sands - My wife and I drove from Dubai to Al Ain in early January 2023. We were keen to visit the oasis which is a UNESCO Heritage Site. We were not disappointed at all when we entered the site. It is fairly large and involves a good amount of walking. But the winter made the stroll pleasant. It was inspiring to see the watering system which was built several centuries back. The place abounds with not only date trees but surprisingly some plantain and other fruit trees as well. The directions all through this is oasis (town) were very helpful. There are battery operated cars to take you around for a reasonable fee. This place was worth the drive from Dubai !

Able to see something different - Our driver is really kind and friendly. He showed us around in the oasis. Really nice ride to see the camel race track as well. We are able to see something different in this tour.

A nice tour of Al Ain, but with some gotchas. - Overall, a nice tour of Al Ain, but with some gotchas. Pros: - Convenient for people without cars or who do not want to drive in the UAE. - You see most of Al Ain popular places. - We booked a shared group tour, but we were given a private driver for free afterwards (after we declined a 100Dhs=$27 upgrade, though). - The driver is patient and polite. - The pick-up point can be anywhere in Abu Dhabi, not only at hotels and airports. You'll have to chat through WhatsApp to set the pick-up point. Cons: - The Al Ain National Museum is closed since March 2022 (the description is out of date). - We had a driver-guide, not a "standard" guide. The driver talks about the region, some history, etc. while driving, but he just waited for use once we arrived at the places. We were on our own. - The free lunch (at a hotel) and livestock market entry tickets (31.5 Dhs=$8.5/person, paid in *cash*) are included only if you are at least 3 people *within the booking*, not the group. Guess what, we were two. - Expensive if you are a group of 3+ people (>$115/person). It would be much less expensive to go by yourselves by car if you are comfortable with it. - It was not a surprise, but the camel market (which is a part of the livestock marlet) is rough. Only men around, and they push you to take pictures of camels, and ask you for money at the end of a 10min tour. I suggest not going alone there and to prepare some petty cash for the photos (like 20Dhs), and just say "Sorry, no more cash" at the end. We were not comfortable staying longer, though I'd have liked to see the animals for a bit longer. Other info: - There is not entry/admission applicable for Jebel Hafit (it is a mountain you drive up to a viewing spot, at the border with Oman), despite the tour description being unclear about it. - Standard tour time is about length is about 8-9h, e.g., 8:30 (leaving Abu Dhabi) - 17h30 (arriving in Abu Dhabi). Though we returned a bit later than that. - At the time of review, the tour operator was Emarat Tours and Travels and the tour contact was from My Arabian Gate Tours & Safari. - The Al Ain Oasis is like a forest of date trees. - We needed vaccination/PCR results to get into some places (we used the Al Hosn app for that). This is not necessary anymore at the time of writing of this review (mid-Nov. 2022), as the restrictions were lifted. - Use a hat and suncream. - Bring a bottle of water, and maybe a sandwich too if you do not qualify for the free lunch. Lunch in touristic places (e.g. the oasis) can easily cost > $15/person. Summary: 3 stars for the overall quality + 1 star for the free upgrade and driver. Recommended for those who don't want to go by themselves to Al Ain / are tight on time, and are OK with the cons above.

meets expectations - this tour was better than another tour of the same operator (abu dhabi half day city tour) that we took on the day before.

Oasis-Labyrinths - 1. The huge area with a lot of palm trees! 2. The direction at the 3/4-point crossing are a bit confusing some time. 3. Unless you are good in keeping your own travel track there are high chance of getting lost. 4. There is a cafeteria inside 5. The place is empty except Saturdays. 6. Farmer markets are set up on Saturday afternoons. 7. The artesian workshop out side the gate is nice and cozy so as the souvenir store. 8. Unless you are visiting during date Harvesting season the place may look little dull. 9. There are option of renting cycles

Too hot and no information - Driver was safe but did not have any ability to communicate how to go through the stops. At the Ain Oasis he dropped us off at the back end and the guards didn’t say anything but there is a shuttle that will take you around since it’s so large and sweltering in July. That’s one tip. If you don’t have to go in July pick a cooler month to go. Also the driver kept the water under the seat but still was warmed by the floor and the sun coming through the window, should have put it in a cooler. The mountain was neat to see but all facilities were closed and it took over an hour to find us a toilet. Just not a tour that was really with it. Especially if you come from Abu Dhabi the drive is a little over 2 hours.
