A surprising highlight of our trip - Great for adults and kids. The instructors were helpful. Provided quite a few souvenirs as well.
It was educational, fun and the perfect ending to our vacation.

This was such a fun... - This was such a fun experience we did, the instructors were really great, very knowledgeable and patient. It was really cool learning the history of Kanji and learning how to draw/paint our own characters. The instructors were so kind, hospitable and friendly!! Would highly recommend if you are looking for something fun and meaningful to do in Tokyo!

Excellent Activity for all ages - Excellent Fun experience for the whole family. Highly recommend it. The hosts were super attentive, organized and kind. We had tea while learning and practicing calligraphy then some origami. All ages loved it. In a Beautiful area - Roppongi - combine with a full day in roppongi district. Thank you!

7 Characters Walked into a Cafe... and Left with Beautiful Kanji - None of our party of seven had previously done calligraphy. The team at Shodo Cafe was very engaging and patient; they truly enjoyed sharing the art, providing hand-on assistance. Everything was extremely organized. In addition to your name, there were a lot of options to choose from, allowing each person to select characters of significance. A memorable experience I highly recommend!

7 Characters Walked into a Cafe... and Left with Beautiful Kanji - Our party of seven spent a delightful afternoon at the Shodo Cafe! The guys were leery at first, but had a great time-- one of them was an absolute natural. The room was organized; the music was fun; and the snacks and drinks were easy/did not impede the calligraphy. The team was extremely patient, literally working hand-on with each of us, constantly replenishing the ink pots and paper. They researched our names in advance, presenting us with individualized meanings and kanji. In addition to your name, a lot of other options were provided to choose from, ensuring that everyone went home with at least one piece to be proud of. We have already hung up our scrolls, and I am looking forward to using my stamp. It was a memorable experience, unlike anything you have probably done before or will have an opportunity to do again. I highly recommend!

Shodocafe Caligraphy Class - We had an incredible time with our hosts here at cafe. Gave us plenty of practice and patience. You get your own stamp and scroll at the end! One of the best experiences in Tokyo. :)

Such a GREAT experience!... - Such a GREAT experience! The staff was wonderful and patient. I’m not an artist so I thought I’d struggle a lot but because of the instruction and guidance, I only struggled a little (LOL….). Great experience and a great value!

Giving all the little extras to make the experience memorable
Came out of that tour with plenty of goodies, some karaoke singing and other little things I can’t numerate.

Hard to find - This place was very hard to find. We walked for almost an hour in the rain after our taxi driver dropped us off almost at the door. It was upstairs in a karaoke bar in a nondescript building. Once we arrived we had fun although is is a challenge to write in Kanji
