- Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri Park - Situated just 7 kilometers from the Military Demarcation Line, Imjingak is a symbolic and historical park created to comfort those displaced by the Korean War. The park includes various monuments, such as the Freedom Bridge, which once facilitated the return of repatriated prisoners of war and soldiers to South Korea. Visitors can also see remnants of old trains halted by the war, serving as a poignant reminder of Korea’s division. This peaceful site offers a moving introduction to the complex history between North and South Korea.
- Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola (DMZ Gondola) - Optional Onsite Purchase for 【Basic DMZ only】package, Included for 【Add Camp+Gondola】package. Enjoy a ride on the Peace Gondola across the Imjingang River into the DMZ civilian control zone. While on the gondola, you’ll have a rare view of the heavily restricted area separating North and South Korea. Upon reaching the other side, explore the Peace Gondola Observatory, learn about Korea’s divided history, and see historical remnants like guard posts and wire fences up close. It’s a thought-provoking experience that combines scenic beauty with deep historical significance.
- Imjin River Dokgae Bridge - Included in 【Basic DMZ only】 package only. The Bridge of Freedom, a symbol of the Korean War’s tragedies, is a temporary bridge without any architecturally notable elements but holds importance as a modern heritage symbolizing the Cold War through embodying the “return to freedom.”
- Camp Greaves DMZ Experience (Youth Hostel) - Included in【Add Camp+Gondola】package only. Camp Greaves is located 2km from the Southern Limit Line of the DMZ. The US forces in Korea were stationed here for approximately 50 years. It was renovated into officers’ quarters in 2013 and is currently used as a Youth Hostel. Visitors can enjoy the exhibitions and displays in the area.
- Dora Observatory - Perched atop Mount Dora, this observatory offers views across the heavily fortified DMZ into the enigmatic landscape of North Korea. On a clear day, you can see the North Korean propaganda village, military outposts, and even daily life in the border town of Kaesong through high-powered binoculars. The observatory provides a rare and surreal experience—standing just meters from one of the most secretive countries in the world, while learning about the reality of life on both sides of the divide.
- The Third Tunnel - Discovered in 1978, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel is one of four underground tunnels dug by North Korea in an attempt to invade the South. Extending over 1.6 kilometers and capable of moving 30,000 troops per hour, the tunnel is both a fascinating and sobering example of the tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Equipped with safety helmets, visitors descend into the tunnel to witness its cramped dimensions and strategic design, walking along a route that once symbolized potential conflict but now serves as a powerful site of education and remembrance.
