Excellent exploration of Iceland - Artic Adventures 8  Day Ring Rd Tour Artic Adventures provided a well rounded 6 day tour of the Island with hotel accommodation before and after the trip.Central office provided excellent email communications and corrected errors on dates of lodging quickly when brought to their attention. Van for travel was clean, comfortable, ample room under seats and above bins for rental equipment and personal items for the 15 in our group.Charging port, phone holder with pull down tray included in the newer van.Luggage was placed in Uhaul trailer the van pulled behind, tour guide always put the luggage in and out for us.Our Tour Guide/ Van driver Almar  "Al" had a love for his country that just shined! Our guided tour with crampons at a Glacier was guided by Michael. He was very personable, explained and assisted when needed. He took our tour at the pace we could handle learning a new skill.Whale watching was a tour of a few groups on the tour boat.Top deck provided a view for about 12 people and the rest of 25 or so had to often miss the show as the boat was often head on instead of turning to allow those on main deck a good view of whales sighted. Our van tour guide was able to get some good pictures he shared with our small group. Back on the van,Al had an enormous amount of information on all the parks, history of landmarks, and a never ending wealth of patience to our countless questions! Everyday he provided the itinerary ,where housing for the evening and information on where we could eat during the mid day and evening.Frequent stops every hour or aso were provided for bathroom breaks and drinks.Al encouraged us to switch seats every day to allow a different view for all.He helped us to discover the Northern Lights and invited us out to view them, every night outside the capital. Al united our diverse group and we are still communicating with each other. The tour had many adventures, an Icelandic Horse Farm visit, an extra fee for Thermal pool swim as well as a beautiful daily waterfall, parks, beaches, hot springs, iceberg coves, seals, sheep,Artic foxes, and old Volcanic sites.Would highly recommended this tour if you want to sit back and enjoy the view, not worry about driving, housing and meals.

So lucky to have found this amazing guided tour by Artic Adventures - If you ever want to experience Iceland: Right here! Find Adolf & book him! Adolf braved taking on this 18 headed German Family for 6 days and he showed us everything that Iceland has to offer! He’s an Icelandic native, has the best stories and an incredible depth of knowledge about all that makes this fascinating country so different and fun to visit! This bus tour went completely around the island, with lots of amazing stops and Adolf always made sure everything was completely taken care of - including beautiful weather 🤩 Seriously, he made this tour so entertaining, fun, informative and he truly went above and beyond what you would expect of a great tour guide! We all felt extremely lucky to have had him as our guide. So, if you ever go to Iceland - make sure to go with #arcticadventures and specifically ask for Adolf. You’ll thank me later!

Definitely a great experience through and through. - We just spent 6 fantastic days with a terrific guide, Svava, who took us not just to some of the most known spots, but who also kept the trip dynamic. Svava showed the deepest knowledge on a variety of topics around Iceland, from ancient History to geology and culture.

Iceland Ring Road at its best. - The amazing diversity of Icelandic geography, history and culture expertly explored. Also sharing this with an excellent driver guide and fellow mini bus tour participants. The driver guide Krzysztof ( Christopher) was very enthusiastic in his praise for Icelandic life and culture which showed in his commentary and attempt to show as much of his adopted country as possible. The life of a driver guide is not easy over 6 nights but he responded well to any weather or other hurdles that appeared. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and can honestly state that this tour was a standout.

Bucket List Checked Off! - Our tour package included 2 nights hotel stay before and after the tour. The hotels we stayed in all had their own personalities and ambience. They were clean and the amenities were sufficient for our nightly stay. I just wished that our before and after hotel was located closer to downtown Reykjavik. Our guide was very patient and went out of his way to accommodate the group's needs. Considering that he's only been with the company for about six months, he had done an excellent job showing us around. I'm sure with more in depth training, he'll be able to expound more on the history of all the wonderful sights along the way. We were able to see and do so much in those six days. The amazing sights and experiences cannot be beat!

8 day The ultimate Iceland highlight hitter - We completed the 8 Day -Ultimate Iceland Highlight Hitter tour conducted by Arctic Adventures a week back. It’s a combination of 6 Days - Around Iceland Adventure by Arctic Adventures, 1-day Snaefellsnes Peninsula & Kirkjufell Small Group Tour by Your Day Tours and 1-day Landmannalaugar Safari Super Jeep Tour. Though a telephone number was provided, it was not cost effective to call them from India notwithstanding the time difference. Even though I requested for a WhatsApp contact, it was not provided. Even after reaching Reykjavik, as I didn’t have international roaming or a local number, I had to depend on the hotel reception to contact their office. There were several occasions we had to necessarily contact them and it was not at all easy. Once we finish the day’s tour and try to contact them, their office is closed and there is no one to contact. The driver cum guide said other booking matters had to be taken up directly with the office. Hence, communicating with them was always an issue. We were the last to get in the vehicle, however, we got two seats in the middle row. I found three elderly ladies in the back row and they were seated there for the entire tour. I have seen some reputed operators rotating the seats everyday so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the front row and the comfortable areas of the vehicle. The van was crammed with 18 passengers and needless to say that it was not at all a comfortable vehicle, especially for the back seat riders. When I requested for the day-to-day itinerary, I was informed that it’s the same itinerary shown in the company website. Hence, I had to check the website every day for the day’s activities. I found that some of my fellow travellers who booked the tour through another agency had their printed itinerary with them. Reputed operators provide a print out of the day-to-day activities along with their historic significance and other particulars at the beginning of the tour. Our luggage was put in a trailer and the driver used to load and unload the luggage from that trailer each day. At few places, our accommodation was upstairs and we had to carry the luggage upstairs, which was really hard, especially for aged people. The itinerary was a great mix of awe-inspiring waterfalls, glaciers, beaches, volcanic craters, lakes, hot springs and activities like hiking including glaciers, whale watching and hot spring baths. The days were tight with lot of activities; however, it was well worth. The tour covered major waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Gullfoss and Dettifoss, besides many other small falls. Other major attractions were Geysir, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Vík Coastal Village, Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Vatnajökull Glacier Hike, Mývatn, Akureyri and Dalvík, Whale Watching Tour, Deildartunguhver Hot Spring, Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Arnarstapi Fishing Village, Mt. Kirkjufell, Djúpalónssandur Pebble Beach etc. The Glacier hike was only for a small distance as the group was mostly ladies including a few aged. However, it was good enough to get a feel of the glaciers. The pickaxe was only a gadget to make photos with and the walk making it look like we were ice climbing. Whale watching was not that great as we saw only a few whales, that too very far. Snaefellsnes Peninsula & Kirkjufell was good, but day 7 guide was not that effective in communicating. Besides, he dropped us at the wrong Foss hotel, despite showing him the address of the hotel, from where we had to take a cab to our actual hotel. Day 8 Jeep tour was interesting and driver Martin was excellent. He made the journey enjoyable and was well versed with the attractions. Hotels were not always those mentioned in the itinerary, but the operator can always take refuge under the clause “or similar”. Day 4 accommodation was in some wilderness camp, which was below par and the dinner cost was too expensive for that type of place and the type of dinner served. Ronan, our driver cum guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all the touristic attractions, and its historic significance. He is clearly passionate about the attractions he showed us and goes above and beyond to gain and share his knowledge of them. His competence was perceived as extremely professional and we want to share our great thanks for making the tour so enjoyable. Overall, we had a superb holiday in Iceland, thanks to Ronan who made it wonderful. The itinerary suggested was great– all sightseeing recommendations were very well chosen and we loved it.
