Highlights

Day 1: Welcome to Lima, City of Kings and the Larco Museum of Cultures

Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - In the afternoon, we will visit the Main Square where the Government Palace and the Town Hall are located. We will visit the Cathedral.

Museo Larco - Leaving downtown Lima and heading to the Larco Museum, where we will get a clear vision of the cultures that inhabited ancient Peru. We shall admire the gold pieces, textiles and erotic ceramics that are part of the collection which will introduce us to the cosmovision of the ancient Peru. The warehouse of this museum will be open during our visit to appreciate the expressions of art that were reflected in their ceramics.

Basilica y Monasterio de Santo Domingo - The Convent of Santo Domingo is the beginning of this magnificent experience. It was built during the foundation of Lima. The Universidad Mayor de San Marcos (University of San Marcos) was founded on this site, the oldest in America. Inside, the choir with the oldest stalls in the country; and the library, with 25,000 books, some printed in the XV century, has an invaluable historical value. The mortal remains of San Martn de Porres, San Juan Masas and Santa Rosa de Lima lie inside.

Cathedral of Lima - Crossing the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace and the Municipality, going into the Cathedral, a jewel in the history of Lima, with artworks that will make us feel closer to colonial Lima.

A magical energizing trip. - Incredible sacred places, great service and warming welcoming. The energy in the sites was strong and magically especial. A must visit country. The overall food was good, but the “Ceviches” were delicious. The agency took care of every. Some delays and flight changes, but could handle these inconveniences. One less bucket list item to check!!!

Holidays in Peru - Wonderful places! Unique and indescribable landscapes. Guide in Machu Picchu, sir. Silverio, perfect. Extremely kind, attentive and knowledgeable about Inka history. MS. Liz who supported us, also excellent. Unfortunately, in the Sacred Valley, guide Ruben, showed total disregard for us. There were only 8 people in the group, however, only my husband and I spoke Portuguese and the guide only spoke to 4 Puerto Ricans, who spoke Hispanic. The guide Ruben took us to lunch at a HORRIBLE restaurant, ALL the buffet dishes contained pepper. Very poorly maintained place, not at all similar to the other restaurants we had been to. “It was time” in not very interesting places, talking to the 4 Puerto Ricans. He even sat on the bus next to one of the passengers so he could “chat”, while the others were left without information about the route. TERRIBLE GUIDE! Furthermore, excellent transfer assistance, always on time and comfortable vehicles. Without a doubt, I would recommend and use their services again.

Optimize time - Short tours should be on the same day to be able to do other excursions A lot of free time without knowing what to do because everything is far away Example city tour and the archaeological park on the same day. And if possible, do not sleep in hot waters if the visit to Machu Picchu is in the morning, there is nothing to do afterwards. I wasted a lot of time and could have gone on excursions. The rest is perfect
