This is the archaeological site of a former Tayrona city situated in the Sierra Nevada, believed to have been established around the year 800, a time period far preceding Machu Picchu.
The celestial site of Tayrona is constructed with a set of terraces carved into the slope of the mountain, accompanied by interconnected tiled trails and compact circular public spaces.
To reach Ciudad Perdida, it involves climbing some 1,200 stone stairs through the expansive regional jungle.
