Highlights
Surabaya - Mount Bromo Area
Surabaya - - Pick-up from Juana International Airport/ hotel in Surabaya
Mount Bromo Area - Banyuwangyi (Ijen Area)
Mount Bromo - - Leave accommodation by shared 4WD jeep at approximately 2:30am -3am to see the spectacular sunrise from vantage point, Penanjakan, at 3:30am. This will be a shared jeep and include local bromo guide/driver.
- Continue by 4WD jeep to Hill of Love for a photo opportunity. Proceed to Bromo Crater through the Sea of Sand.
- At the crater, you can go on foot or horse/pony ride (rent). The trip around 20 minutes. Climb a flight of stairs for 10-15 mins to reach the rim of Bromo Crater.
Madakaripura Waterfall - - Travel to Ijen area, visit Madakaripura waterfall en route to Banyuwangyi.
Banyuwangyi (Snorkelling)
Baluran National Park - - This day is kept free and easy for you to recharge before climbing Ijen in the night.
- Some of the activities would be Snorkeling, diving, going to Baluran National Park, Mountain Biking in the mountains of Ijen etc. You can also just chill by the hotel pool.
Kawa Ijen (Blue Fire Encounter) - Surabaya
Ijen Crater - - Checkout around 12:00 am and travel to Paltuding area with breakfast on-the-go. Local Kawah Ijen tour guide is included in this package.
- Reach Paltuding permit post at approximately 2 am, before hiking to Kawah Ijen.
- At the peak, we will be able to see the famous Blue Flame Sulphur of Ijen. As the Blue Flames are dependent on the moon light and rain, sightings are dependent on suitable weather. As with other natural phenomena, sightings cannot be guaranteed but we will bring you to the choice view point.
- At the break of dawn, if weather permits and it is deemed safe to do so by the authorities, you can walk down to the rim of the Ijen Lake. You can enjoy the morning lake view of Ijen and walk back to the Kawah Ijen before returning to Paltuding.

Fantastic tour - We had an amazing trip with our fantastic driver Yayak. We travelled around Bromo, Ijen and waterfalls. View was breathtaking. Yayak helps us to find perfect places for watching sun rise at Bromo. And we had so much fun swimming in the grand waterfall. Really hope to be here again.

Fantastic tour - The whole planning was smooth. Mount Bromo sunrise was spectacular and worth the trip alone.
We also hike Mount Ijen to see the glowing blue flame and Ijen. This is a physically demanding hike. Our Ijen local guide Matahi is very experienced as he was a former miner. He brought us up and down the crater safely.
Madakaripura waterfall is a good place for photography, our local guide Sen took many Instagrammable photos.
Milky way in my opinion is not worth it as it really depends on weather.
Overall our tour guide Rama and driver Arif are both easy going. Arif is very skillful and experienced in driving, navigating the rough terrains of the mountains. Rama is very patient and coordinated the trip well when itinerary has to be changed due to weather conditions.

Best way to experience the beauty of East Java - We booked a 4D3N trip from Surabaya, to Mt Ijen and then to Mt Bromo before going back to Surabaya. We did not snorkel, and chose to visit the beach and a park instead.
Communication with Sherry was prompt without hassle. Our guide Hamim was friendly, knowledgeable and helped us customise parts of our trip so we could experience more amazing sights in our short time there. Our driver Risan was polite and drove us everywhere on time safely :)
Overall, we managed to see the beautiful sights of East Java in a short and intense weekend trip. If we had more time, we would have loved to stay for 1 more day in both Banyuwangi (Mt Ijen) and Probolinggo (Mt Bromo) to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings. Bring a warm jacket, good hiking boots and your camera and you’ll have a great time!

Great experience - Great tour package that includes all the highlights in East Java. The tour guide/ driver can speak English and he is very accommodating. He knows where to find good food with reasonable price!

Comfortable and fuss free - We booked this trip last minute due to sudden change of plans, around 2 weeks before take off. So glad that everything was well planned out and we didn’t have to worry about anything since we didn’t have much time to plan.
Our designated driver, Yayak, was on time to pick us up at the airport and was really helpful with all our questions and needs throughout the whole trip. He drives safely and we felt safe to sleep in the car during long rides too. He was able to provide recommendations and helped us converse with the locals. The guides he linked us up with at Madakaripura Waterfall, Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen were equally helpful and ensured our safety throughout all the activities.
The accommodations were comfortable as well. We opt for the 4D3N trip since we wanted a more chill trip. It gives us sufficient time to rest between the two hikes since they are all done during the night. If u you are in a rush, I supposed 3D2N is possible also but think it will be quite shag.
