Additional Information

Jinja is a southern Ugandan town located on Lake Victoria’s edge. Coronation Park, the Nile’s origin point, boasts a beautiful garden and a commemorative monument for British explorer John Hanning Speke. The Nile is bridged by both Owen Falls Dam and Bujagali Dam. Far up the river, Itanda Falls is recognized for its exhilarating white-water rapids. East of Jinja, in Lake Victoria, Samuka Island is a habitat for various bird species, inclusive of little egrets.

Kampala, the national and commercial capital of Uganda, lies adjacent to Lake Victoria, the continent’s largest lake. Red-tiled villas and lush trees blanket the area’s hills, encompassing a city centre sprinkled with modern high-rises. The Uganda Museum, located within this urban hub, offers insight into the nation’s tribal heritage through a wide-ranging catalogue of relics. Positioned on the nearby Mengo Hill, Lubiri Palace represents the former headquarter of the Buganda Kingdom.
