A great private tour in Beijing! - We traveled to China for the first time in September 2023 and Beijing was the first city we visited. Before the trip, we got into contact with Sunflower because a friend had recommended her. We told her what we wanted to see and she proposed a bespoke two-day schedule (plus one day with private driver service to the Great Wall at Jinshanling). The tour was great. It was really well organised, we were picked up at our hotel each day and the transfers between the indivudual locations by private cars (Uber equivalent) was included. Entrance fees to the sights and lunch were also included, and the restaurants were really nice (we had asked for local cuisine, and were taken to a noodles restaurant and a dumpling restaurant). Miss Lina, our tour guide, was very nice and did a really good job. She steered us toward the interesting places at every site, offered explanations and additional information and also answered all our questions on Beijing and China. Plus, she is just a great person to be around! Sunflower met us in the evening after the first day of our tour at the hotel lobby, and made it clear that we could also ask her for any advice via WeChat or email. She also gave us some further restaurant recommendations, which were very good as well. When we spent some more days in Beijing at the end of our trip, we met up with her again to hang out at the 598 Art District, and had a great time with her. All in all, it was the best decision to book the private tour with Sunflower, and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing.

Overall, I had an amazing time on the tour with Miss Maggie, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kn - I had the pleasure of being guided by Miss Maggie during my recent trip to Beijing and I must say she was an absolute delight! Her knowledge and enthusiasm for the history and culture of the city were infectious, and she made every moment of the tour a fun and educational experience. Miss Maggie took me to the Temple of Heaven, and it was an incredible sight to behold. She not only explained the historical significance of the temple but also made sure to highlight the unique architectural features of the complex. I truly appreciated her attention to detail and the way she brought the temple to life with her vivid descriptions.

Sunflower's tour was the highlight of our holiday in Asia - Sunflower's two day tour of Beijing and the Great Wall was the highlight of our three week holiday in Asia. Nothing is too much trouble for her - she works incredibly hard - and she made our stay memorable and fun. For newcomers to China (which we were), she provided a wonderful introduction and insight, and we had an excellent time. We enjoyed all the restaurants, shows and visitor attractions which she organised. She is good company and a real pleasure to be with. We would have no hesitation in using her again, and in warmly recommending her to anyone else contemplating a visit to China.

Wonderful two days exploring Beijing - We had a short amount of time in Beijing and were keen to see all the sites. I contacted Sunflower about spending two days showing us around Beijing and the great wall. Sunflower patiently answered my many queries before hand. We agreed an itinerary and I then paid her using paypal. Sunflower reconfirmed approximately a week before. The price was very reasonable. The entrance to the sights, lunch (you also pay for Sunflower) and transport other than where you have a car for the day is not included in the price but Sunflower gave me a guide as to how much this would cost so I could budget/bring appropriate cash. Day 1: Sunflower met us at the airport at 7:30am with a private driver. We then visited the Great Wall of China which was amazing. We caught the cable car up, walked along and took the slide down which was fun. We had a Subway in the car for lunch on the way to the Forbidden palace. We then went to see Tiananmen square before Sunflower dropped us back at our hotel. Day 2: Sunflower met us in the Lobby of our hotel at 9:00. We went to the Temple of Heaven in the morning to see the park and the temple. We then had a Chinese lunch before going to the Summer Palace which was beautiful. After this we headed back to the Hutongs to wander around both old and new sections. By the end of the two days Sunflower felt like an old friend. Overall Sunflower is very knowledgeable and friendly. She tries to make the trip as perfect as possible. She took tons of photo's of us, listened to our preferences and tailored the tour to suit us. She pointed our the best clean and western bathrooms (very valuable!). She also gave us recommendations of places to visit/restaurants to go to on our own once our tour ended. I would highly recommend her tours to anyone and if I return to Beijing I will be using Sunflower Tours again.

Sunflower Tours- Amazing Guide and Service with Sunflower (Lei) and David!! - Wow, what amazing service and what a wonderful experience! I had a great time in Beijing! It was really all due to the great guidance of Sunflower Tours. Not counting their airport pick up and drop off, I was planning on spending 2 full days on the ground in Beijing and wanted to see specific landmarks. As a solo female traveler, I took a hard look at the top rated tours on Trip advisor, reading them carefully to make sure I was going to feel safe, taken care and see the places I was really interested in seeing. Sunflower took in all my requirements and within 12 hours (remember the time difference), had a very competitive quote with location information for pick up. From the beginning email contact to the “above and beyond” last minute customer service due to a missed return flight (no fault of the driver’s), I am so thrilled to have chosen Sunflower Tours. The scheduled airport pick-up went smoothly and I was greeted at the airport as promised and dropped to my hotel. The following day I had an amazing full day tour with Sunflower herself. We went to the Temple of Heaven and viewed the morning exercisers, Tiananmen Square and walked through to the Forbidden City. We had a late lunch and then finished with a walk through the traditional hutong neighborhoods. It was a great mix of walking, subway and driving to look at some of the most amazing sights Beijing had to offer. On top of this, we enjoyed two wonderful meals, one of which gave me my later taste for dumplings and the dinner was the best hotpot I ever had! Better than that I made a new friend in Beijing! The second day, I toured the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and the Summer Palace. The drive was about an hour and half out of Beijing to the Great Wall and we were driven by a professional driver who waited for us at each stop during the entire day. During the drive, David (my fabulous guide day 2) gave me a lot of background on China which taught me a lot about Chinese history, customs and the various regions of the country. We discussed everything from the various empires and rulers of China to the great growth over the last 20 years that Beijing has experienced and how the city has expanded exponentially. Arriving at the Great Wall, we didn’t have to take the shuttle bus with David’s VIP pass and instead walked up the hill directly accessing the gondola to be able to summit to the first watch tower. I was able to enjoy as much time as I wanted at the Great Wall and walked from Tower 14 to Tower 21. I think I spent about 2 ½ hours or so on the Wall. Except for the last steep summit, David escorted me the entire way discussing various subjects about our respective countries. As always he was happy to take any and all pictures. After the Great Wall, with my newfound love for dumplings (the ones Sunflower introduced me to the day before), David was in contact with Sunflower to adjust the lunch meal to suit my request for a dumpling spot on the way to the Summer Palace. I might add, all the dumplings I’ve had, far surpass most Chinese-Americanized restaurants in the United States. Our last stop was to the Summer Palace. As always, being with David who is a friendly and experienced guide, he could give me all the history of the Palace which was so much better than being in a large group listening to someone shout things out or not having someone like him who was always happy to answer all my questions. I would highly and without question recommend Sunflower Tours to anyone coming to Beijing or of any of the other cities they service. The tours I had were in conducted in excellent English and I would book them again in an instant!

Great Two Days Beijing - We visited Beijing on a two day stopover while on a cruise. Sunflower arranged the transfer and train travel to get us into the city ( the cruise terminal is quite a distance from the city ). Sunflower then met us at the station with her sunflower and the happiest welcome The next two days were just great visiting all the major places we wanted to see, along with great information about each site. Sunflower took us to some great food spots so we could experience the local foods, she even surprised us with a local pancake to try when she picked us up on the morning of the 2nd day. We highly recommend Sunflower and her tour company.

A Perfect Experience! - Sunflower was true to her name and was a bright and energetic tour guide. She was so knowledgeable about all of the beautiful historic sites, and she took care of every detail so that we had no worries. And our whole family enjoyed spending time with her, as her smile and positive attitude is infectious! It was truly a memorable experience. I referred her company to a friend recently (who also had a great experience), and we would use her service again in a heartbeat!

2 Day Private Beijing - I can't say enough about Sunflower Tours. Lei Li provided a private tour for me on my first day because my husband was there on a business trip. She was on time, paid attention to detail and explained the history and culture of the sites we visited...the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. On the second day, my husband was able to join us for a portion of the tour before returning to work. We visited the Great Wall as well as the Forbidden City. I am so pleased that Sunflower was my tour guide she was the absolute best. Thank you Lei Li for making my Beijing visit so special!!!

Sunflower Tours is THE best Beijing walking tour! - We (3 experienced travelers) were referred to Sunflower Tours through a friend that used their services earlier. We didn't have much time in Beijing and wanted to pack in all the sites we could. We only had two full days in Beijing and I am SO happy to say that Sunflower Tours was a great choice. We were met at the airport at about 8 pm local time with a sign highlighting our names by Zheng who transported us directly to our hotel. The next morning we met with Lei Li aka Sunflower who was to be our guide for the next two days. Day one met at 7:30 am and saw many city sites including Tienanmen Sq, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven. We stopped for lunch at a local place and got to walk in a local neighborhood as well which was a nice departure from all the many monumental sites. It was a jam-packed day and know that there is a lot of walking. So be prepared. Also, there is a section outside the Forbidden City that is the Imperial Gardens (I think) that has a great hill with many steps. If you have walking or stair climbing challenges, you may have to wait at the bottom. But once at the top you can see all over the city and over the Forbidden City nicely. At the end of the day we chose to see the Chinese Acrobatic Show. With no disrespect to these artists, I would skip that show. While only one hour in length, it wasn't anything I hadn't ever seen before out in the world. If you have seen any Cirque du Soleil, then this might be a let down to you as it was to me. Plus, oddly enough, it was the most expensive thing we did all weekend. It was about 220 RMB per person or about $33-$35 US. On a side note, traffic in that city is ridiculously congested. So be patient. Our driver Mr. Zheng was great and clearly knowledgeable. Day two we visited the Great Wall. A highlight to our trip by far in my opinion. I can't wait to go back to the Great Wall and explore it as early as possible and perhaps another section. We went to the Mutianyu area of the Great Wall. We left at about 7:30 am. It is about a 1.5 - 2 hour drive so plan accordingly. It was VERY worth it. We arrived about 9 am before the crowds but there was still plenty of people. We chose to take the cable car up so we could spend maximum time on the wall. We spent a few hours walking, hiking climbing the wall. The place was beautiful and I highly recommend it. If you have no health issues I recommend climbing up to tower 20. The climb is aerobic and will take some time. We then proceeded back down from tower 20 past our original entrance point a few more towers to the "speed chute" as some call it. We chose to take the chute to sled down the mountain. The cable car and the chute were separate costs FYI. The chute is a simple sled with a hand brake and you can go as fast or slow as you want. Be prepared after curves as sometimes there can be slow people ahead so I had to brake a bunch. After the time at the wall (a total of four hours) we went for lunch about a five - ten minutes drive down from the wall at a local place. There is a Subway sandwich shop at the entrance to this part of the wall. We passed on that. After our excursion to the Great Wall we drove all the way back to Beijing only to go to the Summer Palace. It was lovely and most park like. If I had to do it all over again, I would spend way more time at the Summer Palace and bring a picnic lunch. So all in for the Sunflower Tours for two solid days, driver pick up and drop off at PEK airport and all the costs associated with the site entrance fees, cable rides, chute rides, lunches and acrobat show was about $1000 - $1100 US without gratuity for 3 people. We did also give a gratuity and I felt they went above and beyond. Tipping is a personal thing so I won't tell you what we tipped. The driving alone with pickup to and from airport was a blessing from Sunflower Tours. I HIGHLY recommend Sunflower Tours. When I go back to Beijing I will hire them again!

Top tier - My wife and I connected with Sunflower Tours at the end of a business trip, eager to understand China on a deeper level. Our experience with Sunflower was a perfect combination of education, culture, and fun. From the Great Wall insider look to the intriguing food stalls, we knew we were in the hands of someone who not only knew Beijing but absolutely wanted to help us have a true A+ trip. Would absolutely hire again.
