Birthday Girls Trip Tour - Neil of Desert Solitude gave my friends and myself the most wonderfully memorable milestone birthday girls trip!!! We didn’t have to worry about transportation, food, snacks beverages. We didn’t have to haul supplies. We brought our sense of adventure and he took care of everything else. He even surprised me with desert birthday cookies!! He’s experienced , prepared, pleasant. I highly recommend Neil as an experienced tour guide. Thank you, Neil!

Stop your online search and book it. - Book it! Don't hesitate! I went with my 17 year-old daughter through Capitol Reef National Park. We crossed rivers, bentonite hills, breathtaking overpasses—all within the comfort of a luxury off-road vehicle. When hunger struck, our guide was grilling skewers (sirloin, zucchini, pineapple, peppers—seasoned with fresh herbs). Are you kidding??? I was so blown away by the guide and experience that I plan on booking a longer trip next time. Stop your endless online search and just be done with it.

Desert Solitude - Neil is very friendly and incredibly helpful. He offered a lot of local knowledge I would of otherwise not known, until it was too late.

Trip of a LIfetime! - Touring Utah’s National and State Parks with Desert Solitude was like visiting them with an extremely knowledgeable life-long friend. Our guide, Neil Petersen, always put our comfort and desires above any preconceived agenda or schedule. He patiently answered any and all questions we had, explained our options regarding hikes, visits to overviews, and literally went out of the way (think unpaved off-road canyons) to provide our small 6-person group with views and experiences we would have never otherwise encountered. Additionally, Neil is an excellent photographer and provided us with some professional-quality photos of the various couples on the trip that we could not have created (or even envisioned) on our own. In addition to visiting Canyonlands, Arches, Capital Reef and Bryce Canyon, we were also able to experience Goblin Valley State Park and some overlooks in the Escalante National Monument. As if that wasn’t enough, when we arrived back in Salt Lake City a bit earlier than anticipated, Neil asked if we wanted a tour of some of SLC’s more popular sights. Experiencing these daily adventures was truly a trip of a lifetime!

LATHERED IN LOVING LUXURY - This experience, of being guided, supported, and led, through adventure and connection is unparalleled. The sights are incredible, but are enhanced tenfold by our expert guides and caretakers. This business anticipates almost every need, and further creates unique, mind-blowing value by listening to the client and spontaneously adjusting and creating new itinerary that continue to over-deliver. These experts are not only masterful at the nature-and-hidden-gems experience, but their hearts are equally humongous. Connection and collaboration are at the heart of this business. We've never been so cared for and heard, and thereby served.

Skip the big bus tour of Utah’s parks. This is THE way to go! - Amazing tour! Neil provided delicious trail lunches, comfortable lodging, and we got to see so much of Utah that we never could have done on our own. So many WOW sites! Neil completely accommodated this tour to fit our group. We went star gazing, off roading, hiking, so many off the beaten path places at the National and State Parks. Neil felt like family ( in a good way!) on this trip. His warm, fun, and caring personality made this so much more than just seeing the parks. Book your trip!

a memorable trip to Utah - This was the first time any of us had visited Utah. I had only heard wonderful things about all of the national parks, but I had no idea where to begin my research. As is customary, we began our research with Tripadvisor, and the very first item that stood out to me was Desert Solitude. To say that we lucked out is an understatement. 1. I called "Desert Solitude" and spoke with Neil, who was both quite helpful and a kind individual. Had some good fortune with the dates. He is really responsive while also being quite nice, and he assured her that Sarah would be picking us up from there. 2. Sarah was the one who came to get us up at the airport. The trip from Salt Lake City to Canyon Lands National Park was nothing short of spectacular. Since Sarah is from the area, we had the good fortune to hear many interesting local anecdotes about Utah and its many national parks. 3. While we were talking, she saw how much our family enjoyed playing in the snow, so she discovered a great site for us to stop at on the way to Canyonlands National Park, Moab, and Arches National Park. The kids had a blast in the snow for about an hour before we continued on to those parks. The trip to Moab was uneventful save for a few high points. - The helpful and kind personnel at "Desert Solitude" (Sarah and Neil would see to it that everything was taken care of) - The indescribable natural beauty of Utah. We had a picnic and lunch, and both were delicious. Thanks Sarah and Neil for making this a memorable trip for us.

5-day Glamping Tour - We recently returned from a tremendous vacation organized and guided by Desert Solitude. Prior to the trip we exchanged emails with Neil discussing our preferences for length of the trip and general interests. Neil developed a tentative agenda but made it clear it could be modified if we preferred. After beginning our trip, Neil suggested trails based on our abilities and preferences, and mood (energy level??) at the time but we made the final decision for the activity. When needed, Neil provided assistance to negotiate challenging trails. The ”glamper” was as comfortable and deluxe as described. Several days before our trip, Neil scouted out an ideal private location for our campsite. The glamper was stocked with snacks. However, we rarely felt the need for additional food because meals were generous and designed to meet our food preferences. Most days, even lunches involved grilled meals. We realized we were taking our chances on booking a trip in which we would spend 5 days with an unfamiliar tour guide. As it turned out we found Neil to be the perfect person for the job. Because of his easy going, friendly nature it was a pleasure to spend the week with him. He was very familiar with the trails and sites so that he was able to suggest activities that matched our interests and ability. Initially the trip seemed expensive relative to our usual camping vacations. However, considering the cost covered car rental, gas, meals, accommodations and an individual guide, we felt the cost was reasonable. We encouraged Neil to expand his trips to include different areas and parks because he would have repeat customers. We would be first in line. Liz and Doug
