Highlights

Fes-ifran [the Swiss city]-monkey forest-la Valle de ziz-merzouga

Merzouga - Your tour begins in the morning when your experienced driver picks you up from your hotel or riad and takes you to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert, where the Erg Chebbi dunes await, stretching east to Algeria. This is one of Morocco’s must-do experiences. But first, enjoy the thrill of a trip to the majestic Atlas Mountains, where your first stop will be in Ifrane, nicknamed Morocco’s Switzerland because of its alpine architecture. The next stop is in the fragrant cedar forests around the peaceful village of Azrou, where you can see the Barbary apes, or macaque monkeys, living contentedly in their natural habitat and always ready to grab your lunch! The beautiful journey continues through the mountains until you reach Midelt for lunch (a city known as the apple capital). En route, stop for a moment to take photos of the Ziz Valley

Fabulous trip to Sahara desert 🏜 - The trip to the desert was brilliant! Everything was well planned and went smoothly. Hassan - the driver, made the long trip manageable with his calm attitude, frequent stops for rest, scenic views, feeding the monkeys and chilled music in the car. The camel ride itself was unique experience among the majestic Sahara dunes. The tents in the camp are clean, with Everything provided for a comfortable night in the desert. They offered us traditional dinner and music entertainment . The most magical moment was probably the night starry sky and the sunrise over the desert !!! I can only recommend everyone to experience for themselves this breathtaking trip ! Thank you !

Personalized attention. Trip to remember. - I have been to Morocco on many occasions and I can still say that the experience has been unique and the trip unforgettable. Sami helped us at all times and even made every possible effort to find us extra transportation that would make our trip even more complete. This personalized attention is greatly appreciated when they manage so many tourists at the same time.

Discovery of the atlas and the desert - Great stay with discovery of the atlas, and the desert near Merzouga, the Berber villages, with a great driver Hassan who was at the top. I recommend 😁🙏

Beautiful adventure, well taken care of! - Had a very nice two-day excursion. Our driver/guide Tarik was extremely nice and super relaxed! Don't be put off by the long journey, because the journey is part of the experience. Every 2 hours there is a stop at an interesting place. For example, we have seen snow, like monkeys in the Middle Atlas. Later enormous rock formations in the High Atlas. The hygiene of the toilets along the way is also excellent (even though I read other things about it in other reviews). The highlight of the trip has to be the time in the Sahara. Both on the camel and snowboarding down the sand dunes; it's spectacular. The camp was also very well cared for. The tents were very spacious and super clean. Bathroom with shower (with hot water!) was above our expectations. In the evening we danced to Berber music around the campfire. Very fun adventure with great guidance!

Super - Desert trip was a lot of fun! We were brought by Hasan, a friendly driver and was at the pick-up location on time. Accommodation was beautiful, tents clean and luxurious. Food at the tented camp was very good. The people hosting the camp were super friendly and fun. All in all, well organised!

Super! - Had a great trip! Very good atmosphere and super friendly driver Hassan (and very good driver). The way there and back are really beautiful, very changing landscape and nice stops. You stop at places where you can buy something, but no one forces you. Also stops in the snow, at a beautiful lake and beautiful views over the mountains. Hassan takes you to fun and tasty lunch spots. The overnight stay in the desert was super fun! Very friendly people, nice place to spend the night and good food in beautiful surroundings.

Good experience - Our driver Hassan was amazing. He speaks multiple languages so could communicate with all passengers; English, French, German, Italian, Arabic, probably more! He timed our stops well so we made sunset on time, which often meant rounding up stragglers! He was always polite. The accommodation is beautiful. Large, luxury tents with huge beds and private bathrooms; although there is no hot water. The staff treated us to some music around a fire after dinner with drums and singing, it was really wholesome. A abundance of cultural food is provided for dinner and breakfast. The dunes are absolutely stunning. My one star less than 5 is because lunch on both days is quite “expensive” and options are limited. Day 1 lunch was 8-10€ and day 2 was 11-13€. Compared with prices everywhere else in Morocco, this is steep so be sure to factor it into your budget/the trip cost or take your own snacks from your origin.

DO NOT BOOK - Dreadful Experience, Lack of Responsiveness, Deserted Without Transportation in Blistering Heat. Initially, we were excited about our trip and had meticulously planned everything. Sami initially seemed attentive and friendly, but his behavior drastically changed on the day of the trip. Despite numerous assurances about visiting various sites, transportation, and sandboarding, none of these promises were kept. During the lengthy 7-hour journey from Fez to Merzouga, Sami blamed adverse weather conditions and bypassed all stops except for excessively expensive locations. Upon arrival in Merzouga, our anticipation for sandboarding, as promised, was met with confusion from the guides, who claimed ignorance of our requests. The following morning, our return trip to Marrakech, included in the package, failed to materialize. Left stranded under the scorching sun for hours, our attempts to contact Sami went unanswered. We ultimately had to arrange alternative transportation at our own expense, after pleading with the locals. Despite a satisfactory camel ride and overnight stay in the tent, our overall experience was marred by the distressing situation and lack of professionalism displayed by Sami.

Do not Book from SamiTrip - TERRIBLE. UNRESPONSIVE. LEFT US IN THE SCORCHING SUN WITHOUT ANY TRANSPORTATION BACK. We were very excited about this trip and had arranged everything. Sami was very responsive and friendly till the day of the trip. He made lots of promises about visiting multiple places, transportation and sand boarding. None of which were delivered. 1) In the 7 hour drive from Fez to Merzouga - he said the climate was bad and did not stop anywhere besides for places that were extremely expeensive. 2) Once we reached Merzouga, we were looking forward to Sandboarding which was promised. When we asked the guides there, they pretended as though they don’t understand what we were saying. 3) Next day morning, ride back to Marrakech was part of the package. But there wasn’t any bus for us. We were left waiting in the scorching sun for hours and Sami HUNG UP our call and stopped responding to our messages. We ultimately had to pay another local taxi to reach Marrakech (that too after a lot of requesting and pleading to the locals). Although the camel ride and overnight stay in the tent was good, our overall experience felt more like a survival than a vacation because of SAMI.
