A step back in time - This was a great tour of rural England. The tour guide was great and personable. He informed us on how things are done in England too. I am from the United States.

"A wonderful romp though a part of England that everyone should experience." - In late May, my wife and I were taken on a enlightening jaunt from Glastonbury, through Dartmoor and on to Tintagel. Our host Michael combined a keenknowledge with charming humor in showing us a hunters lodge, Wistman's Wood,

We came back for more after the 2 Day Glastonbury Tour! - My mother, son, and I had a wonderful 2 day tour with Michael in February of both Glastonbury and Avebury and the ancient stone circles. My 8 year old son is not easily entertained and seemed to be under Michael's magical spell for an entire 8 hour day whilst walking 6 miles in Glastonbury learning about Joseph of Arimathea, Mary Magdelene and King Arthur and the Knights of Templar. He was determined to hike up to St. Michael's tower on the Tor and once accomplishing that goal skipped happily along with Michael playing games along the way. Micheal was a knowledgable tour guide who exercised a saintly amount of patience with my son and our questions which I truly appreciated. To continue our journey in the spirit of the Knights of Templar in the quest to find the holy grail, my mother and I signed up for another 2 day tour in November of Dartmoor and Cornwall, this time with Tor. We were excited to have a different perspective by Tor leading our quest and had the most magical visit in both places. Tor's recommendations for both B&B accommodation and food and drink in Tintagel were spot on and the November weather cooperated! For me, the highlight of the tour was Wistman's Wood in Dartmoor where I went in asking for guidance on my life's purpose and left with a vision that included some life changing information that I plan to put to good use! Merlin's Cave at Tintagel also cannot me missed. Please note, bring Wellies! We did not and had a wonderful adventure however they are advised (the water is very cold barefoot!!). St. Nectan's Glen and the Mother Waterfall was another magical opportunity to look inward discovering the holy grail existing inside ourselves. Tor was patient and kind, engaging, and of course intuitive giving us a first class experience of these sacred sights. Many thanks and we look forward to returning for another tour in the future!

An experience of a lifetime. I loved it so much I hope to do it again some day. :) - This tour was absolutely amazing, inspiring, beautiful, breath-taking, life changing, and a spiritual awakening for me. If you're a fan of King Arthur and Merlin you will absolutely love this; but even if you aren't, the sights of true wondrous natural beauty will make it well worth it regardless. Tor is incredibly kind and down-to-earth, making this tour even more of a joy. I also had the pleasure of traveling with his dog Nettle who is a total sweetheart and was also very good for my animal loving soul. I have not a single negative thing to say about this experience. I would do it again in an instant. Very highly recommend. :)

The places were well worth the visit while Tors lack of description of was not worth 245.00. - First of all, let me state plainly and clearly that my wife and I are American. We are not wealthy, but work hard for our money and enjoy spending it on experiences. We thought that Tors Tour of King Arthur’s Cornwall would be magical and illuminating. It was anything but. The first red flag happened at the very outset of the tour when we were to meet Tor at 10:00am outside our B&B. He was half an hour late as his van broke down and he had to rent a car for the tour. Upon arriving late, he said he had texted my wife to let us know - there was no such text or trace of attempted communication. Being a professional guide to far-flung points of interest, wouldn’t the maintenance of his vehicle be paramount? He also had his dog in the back and although I don’t mind dogs at all, we found that our tour had more to do with Tor playing catch with his dog while walking ahead of us rather than telling us stories about the landscape or history of where we were. What if we were allergic to dogs? Too bad - is the sentiment that comes to mind. Truly, I found that if I didn’t ask Tor pointed questions about where we were, he wouldn’t have engaged us at all. I am well aware of Arthur’s history and the magical Ley Lines that cross the landscape, but it didn’t seem as if Tor’s mind was on the job at hand. I asked many questions that he either didn’t answer fully or deflected entirely. He seemed incapable of saying, ‘I don’t know’. He did speak about a new app he was developing and was very excited about that. The places he took us to were lovely and that is true. However, there were mistakes and misses at every turn which surprised me for someone who had been giving this tour for as long as he has. The morning we were to go to Tintagel we were to be picked up at 10:00am. The night before he told us that low tide was at 7:30am and that he would pick us up then. This seemed a rather late development when I assume anyone could have looked up the tides before the tour and adjusted the schedule, especially a guide getting paid 245.00 for each of us. As it was, Merlin’s Cave was awash in the ocean due to violent weather. I do not hold Tor responsible for this at all. Truly, had this tour cost 50.00 each I would have thought all was as it should be, but 245.00 per person is no small sum and yes, I expected more care for the price. I felt that Tor was not really interested in giving the tour his all and that it was a money-making hobby while he developed his app and other more interesting ideas for himself. I have just read some reviews from earlier dates, 2012, 2013 on his website and they are all glowing, so I am flummoxed as to what has happened in the meantime. Our B&B hosts said he was very knowledgeable about everyplace on the tour, so I was perplexed that it was so difficult to get him to tell us anything. I felt his attention and interests were elsewhere and that the tour was nowhere near worth the price of 245.00. Everyone has their bad days and this was certainly one for Tor. We had other tour guides in Bath and also Stonehenge and the difference between their affable knowledge and attention to us and Tors lack was astonishing. I couldn’t help but think that he didn’t like us personally for some reason. At the end of it, I felt I had paid such a hefty sum in order to be present while Tor walked and played ball with his dog. When he charges 245.00 per person, I don’t feel he can afford that kind of lapse in interest, or he should be doing something else.
