Once in a lifetime experience with incredible hospitality. - I came to Kathmandu with the plan to hike ebc but with nothing booked, when I got to wanderthirst hostle where I was staying I was treated with amazing hospitality by jiri who instantly made me feel welcome and told me about how I can book the hike through him. I was given free amenities which included taxis too and from the airport, free beer and was allowed to use a sleeping bag, down jacket, bag, gloves and headlight for the trek free of charge. With a good deal that he gave me and the great care I was given I decided to book it through jiri and wanderthirst.I was put in a group with 5 other likeminded people and had one of the best exoeriences of my life. My guide Tek and the porters were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and are the only guides I’ve ever had that I will genuinely miss.

EBC - 12 day trek - I did the EBC trek with NMA in May 2024. The experience was incredible. I am particularly grateful for my guide/doctor/comedian, Tek, who supported me throughout the journey. Without his help, I certainly would not have been able to complete it. He is very knowledgeable on altitude sickness. Couldn't think of a better guide.

Trekking Tour Everest Base Camp and Bardia National Park: - Simply great! Good tour guide, friendly staff and exciting days. On the trekking tour, a lot of consideration was given to the individual participants, especially when it came to speed. Incredibly beautiful landscapes, adventurous suspension bridges, fun encounters with yaks and good accommodation. There is something meditative about the daily hikes. You increasingly move away from civilization and get to know yourself in a whole new way high up in the Himalayas. The culture is also very exciting, highly recommended. I saw 2 tigers on the safari :D The staff were really very competent and the stay in the national park was very varied with bush walks, jeep safaris and lying in wait at the watering holes. You never know in advance when or if a tiger will appear from the bushes, but when it does happen, it is incredibly exciting. The guides really do their best to enable an encounter with the animals and this usually worked very well. The accommodation on site was great. I had no problem with mosquitoes thanks to the nets provided. It was really an unforgettable experience :D

Unforgettable journey with NMA - An incredibly beautiful experience that we treated ourselves to again with the same travel company NMA! After hiking the Annapurna Circuit last year, we decided to do the ABC this year! The ABC trek is incredibly beautiful, varied and unforgettable! Our guide Milan and our porter Ganesh were incredibly friendly, courteous and experienced! We thank you both from the bottom of our hearts ♥️ for your company and your kindness! You are the real heroes of Nepal! The best thing of all is that we will be back 🙏🙏 See you soon and we can hardly wait again

Great time on 3 passes + EBC (17 days trek + flight) - I’m a huge hiker and was on the fence about doing a trek with an agency, but had a feeling it would be difficult to find other solo hikers who wanted to do 3 passes. When Bibi (from the trekking office at Wanderthirst hostel) approached me, they had a trip scheduled in 2 days, and it was clear that it would be super hassle-free to go with them. From the permits and flights to gear provided, booking of all the lodging and including all of the meals - they provided/included more than all of the other agencies I spoke with. The trek was amazing, our guide (Suk) and porters were the friendliest you could imagine, and it was so nice to not have to think about any logistics, at all, the entire trip. Just to set expectations appropriately - Previous to booking I asked if the guides spoke good English and could explain a bit about the culture/history, mountains, villages, etc. I was told that their English is so-so and are mostly to help you with where to go and acclimate/summit safely, so I didn’t expect anything further. Our guide could identify all of the mountains, knew their heights, and always stayed back with the slowest hiker to make sure everyone was OK. Some surprises were that the package included a private room at the hostel after the trek, a few extra meals in Kathmandu (and even a cultural show and night out!). It felt like the staff went above and beyond to make sure that the guests were happy and provided for.

A well-organised private trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) - A well-organised trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) 949461123 When one embarks on an adventure trek in Nepal, the architecture for a successful undertaking resonates in ensuring that one engages the services of a well-established and reputable local travel organisation. In my case, I engaged the services of Nepal Mountain Adventure, an organisation based in Kathmandu (KTM), catering for trekker's specific needs. I previously used their services for trekking to Everest View Hotel (in 2016) and Annapurna Base Camp (in 2022). It should be noted that this is NOT an advertisement - it merely serves as an informed travel recommendation (based on my personal experience and reflections thereon). I am a senior citizen (aged 65+ years) and wanted to trek to EBC before reaching the end of my twilight years. I approached my chosen local travel organisation in KTM with specific trekking requirements: -  an 18-day trek (including two acclimatisation days on ascent and one rest day on descentfrom EBC); -  visits to some en-route Budhist monasteries (eg. those in Khumjung and Pangboche) to view the respective revereed Yeti scalps and also gain insights into Budhism; and -  the trekking experience must not be a luxurious travel undertaking. Instead, I wanted the trek to be consumed by the grandeur of life's simplicities. The chosen travel organisation facilitated everything for me - ranging from meeting me upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, arranging suitably convenient hostel accommodation in KTM, loan of trekking equipment, transport to Ramechhap Airport, return airtravel to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla and overnight stays at various teahouses during my ascent to and descent from EBC. A knowledgeable guide (Bikram) and porter (Pasang) were assigned to me, and they looked after my daily well-being. Everything was therefore 'done for me' so that during the EBC trek I could focus my not-so-young energies on the vistas of the mountains, the beauty of the in-bloom rhododendrons and absorb the surrounding flora and fauna. However, the fabled snow leopard and red panda remained elusive (to me) in Sagarmatha National Park. We reached EBC on 23 April 2024. We hugged and were duly elated by our collective achievement. We paused and reflected thereon. Had the architecture of my EBC trek been flawed, this will have lessened my trek enjoyment. It is, therefore, significantly important to select the 'correct' travel company organisation when undertaking an EBC trek. After all, one wants to enjoy a memorable experience in the majestic Himalayas in Nepal.

EBC trek - The host of the company was incredibly helpful, even if the airline experience was horrible he managed to always keep me informed and was finding solutions. I did have a really great trek with a more then helpful porter guide named Hem I would highly recommend doing business with them.

EBC trekking April 2024 - My friend and myself are returning back from EBC trek (11 days tour). We were very happy to be accompanied by the porter Bisu Dev. He is very strong (carried around 40kg🫣), good singer, excellent volleyball player, with good sense of humor. Always reads the feelings and mood of the clients. If you want to make him happy, just feed him with meet, nuts, hot water (not mangos and chocolates😁). And please be very kind to him- he is a very good person with beautiful soul. We really advise you to go to the trek with him, you may be sure, everything will be safe and done very quickly. If we return back, we would like to be accompanied by him.
