Super fun cruise and nice rooms - This cruise is so lovely! There’s a set daily itinerary with plenty of activities, or you can choose to relax in your room or on the sundeck & hot tub. Everything is meticulously planned and wonderfully scheduled. Jackie, the tour director, is so fun and lively and he really brought the energy and fun spirit to the cruise. - Rooms are huge and very nice with dark hardwood. The balcony is soooooo lovely, just sitting out there while the boat is cruising is one of the best activities ever. Huge bathrooms. - Food was so good! There was a variety of meat and seafood dishes and plenty of veggies available. You could choose from a Vietnamese or Western menu. We loved all the interesting Vietnamese food like the jellyfish salad. The egg coffee was particularly good. - Drinks are not expensive, it’s Vietnam! It’s like $2-4 USD so no need to nickel and dime. - Visiting the cave on the second day was a very unique experience. Overall the cruise was well set up with plenty to do if you’re an activities person, or you can easily relax and take in the scenery if you’re not. Would highly recommend this company and cruise. I am immediately trying to plan a return trip and stay even longer!

Nice trip overshadeowd by one unscrupulous staff member - Overall our trip was great, but an incident before we boarded really left us feeling very uncomfortable about one staff member. We arrived at the marina and were told it would be roughly an hour's wait until boarding. I had picked up a nasty tummy bug in Hanoi and asked staff for directions to the nearest pharmacy so I could take a taxi. They told me that another staff member was heading to the pharmacy to purchase medicine for another passenger so I could travel with her. So I got on the back of her bike and off we went. The pharmacist provided medicine at a cost of VND80,000, which was fine. I paid with a VND500,000 note but the Aqua of the Sea staff member snatched the change and only gave it to me when I insisted - of course she had no reason to take the money at all. We headed back to the marina on the bike but half way there she stopped on the side of the road and demanded VND200,000 for the trip. I was a bit shocked (since I'd been told she'd been making the trip anyway) but told her I'd pay when we got back to the marina. However she refused to take me any further until I paid. It seemed like (literal) highway robbery. I didn't mind paying for the trip but a taxi would have been about a quarter of the price and the way this was handled struck me as dishonest. I wasn't told there would be a charge and the fact that she did it out of sight of other staff members makes me wonder if she simply kept the cash for herself. I was extremely unwell and I felt she took advantage of the situation. The rest of the trip was nice and uneventful. The rooms were very nice and the food was decent. The activities were good, although swimming in the polluted waters of Halong Bay was a bit underwhelming. The views were spectacular, and other than our initial encounter, staff were very good.

Very nice experience - My wife recently went on 2D/1Night cruise. Everything was well coordinated, from transfer pick up through to disembarking. Unfortunately my wife was unwell during the cruise so we weren’t able to experience all the facilities and attend all the social activities. The food was very good, lots of lovely selection to choose from at each meal. The set menu dinner was very nice indeed. The staff were all lovely throughout the cruise. One staff member did stand out during the cruise and that was Jenny. Jenny was wonderful the way she interacted with guests on board was excellent, couples appreciated that Jenny would play with the children, etc. For the dinner, my wife was unable to attend. Jenny even offered to package food for me to take back to my wife. Jenny had a dessert sent to our room for my wife to enjoy. Her attention, friendliness and overall consideration for the guests was brilliant, thank you.

Not as it appears.... - The vessel does not look like the pictures in the booklet or online. It's a bit run down. The rooms were large and spacious and clean. I found the boat to carry a pungent odor which they try to mask by burning essential oils throughout the ship's rooms. The bath/shower water also carries a very foul smell. The buffet selection is basic but there are very limited selections for non seafood eaters or those that have picky palettes. I also found it odd that they would run out of food and not replenish as some buffet eaters wouldn't have the opportunity to eat some of the food due to others finishing the pan. The snacks offered at happy hour are tasty but if you are not there as soon as it starts, you won't get any. I brought my daughter to get some french fries 10 minutes into happy hour to find that the fries were gone. When I asked if the french fries would be replenished I was told, you're too late. There were shrimp chips and a few pieces of fruit left. Needless to say, the food service was subpar. The staff did their best and most were very friendly. I would recommend that the cruise line print an itinerary that is posted in the main area. There was lots of confusion among guests and the ssndcond morning was abrupt. Announcements to be at the front within 10 minutes if you wanted to see Cat Ba island and you must bring your room key to reception.....so did we also have to check out at that time? Breakfast was served from 615 to 715am so there was very little time to eat and get ready. In reality, there was no need to get to Cat Ba island so early. We could have gone half an hour later so that everyone could hve had breakfast without panic of checking out at the same time. Although the staff were kind and friendly, I wouldn't recommend this cruise. I was quite disappointed.
