• Lake Ziway - Lake Ziway is one of the freshwater Rift Valley Lakes in Ethiopia. This lake is home to the Church of Maryam Tsion, which once safeguarded the Ark of the Covenant from invaders. The island is teeming with various bird species, hippos, and is abundant in fishery production.
• Tulu Gudo - During the picturesque boat ride across Lake Ziway, passengers can enjoy watching native birds and local fishermen on their reed boats. Upon reaching the island of Tulu Gudo, visitors are greeted by local guides and introduced to the unique culture of the Zay people. Although only 900 of them reside on the island, their culture and language are distinct from the surrounding Oromo people. Visitors can explore the village, meet the community, experience the local lifestyle, and discover their traditional weaving.

The Maryam Tsion monastery is the highlight of the tour. It houses a captivating collection of ancient relics dating back nearly 1,100 years, including the exquisite Gedle-Kidusen manuscript, a parchment book written in Ge’ez, the ancient language of Ethiopia.

After the tour, visitors can hike to an open-air restaurant and unwind with a traditional lunch of freshly caught and grilled fish served with local vegetables and enjera, Ethiopian sourdough flatbread.
