• Lake Ziway - Lake Ziway is one of the freshwater Rift Valley Lakes in Ethiopia. This lake is home to the Church of Maryam Tsion, which once safeguarded the Ark of the Covenant from invaders. The island is abundant with various bird species, hippos, and is rich in fishery production.
• Lake Ziway - A brief walk past the island’s only house and up the forested slopes leads to a monastery that is often closed. Walking around its perimeter offers excellent views of the lake.
