Day 1 - Arrival in Zhangjiajie City

Zhangjiajie - Please provide your arrival flight number and hotel name or address, and a complimentary pick-up will be arranged for you from Zhangjiajie Airport or Zhangjiajie Train Station.

Day 2 - Zhangjiajie National Park - Bailong Elevator, Yuanjiajie, Sky Garden, Tianzi Mountain (L)

Tianzi Mountain - The guide will meet you in your hotel lobby at 9:00 am (we will notify you of any changes to the pick-up time due to local weather or other conditions). You will be taken to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, where you will board the park’s green bus to reach the Tianzi cable car station. Visit the Imperial Brush, Xihai Stone Forest, and Fairy Lady Present Flowers. Take a shuttle bus to the Laowuchang area, an undeveloped part of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located between Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. It is best accessed by a locally hired van from Yuanjiajie, as it is off the usual travel route. The scenery here is breathtaking and awe-inspiring. Sunrise in Laowuchang is a must-capture scene for photographers in Zhangjiajie. You can also see the ‘Sky Field Garden’ (Kongzhong Tianyuan 空中田园), a small area of paddy fields seemingly perched on an outcrop surrounded by Zhangjiajie’s iconic peaks. These fields are cultivated by local ethnic people.

Yuanjiajie - Next, take an Eco-bus to the Yuanjiajie area, an ideal spot for a panoramic view of the nature reserve. You can grab some food here before exploring the Yuanjiajie area, then embark on a 1.5-hour hike to discover the Pillar of the Southern Sky, which inspired the “Hallelujah Mountains” in the blockbuster movie, Avatar. Proceed to the Platform of Forgetfulness to enjoy the nearby peak views and then walk across the No. 1 Bridge under Heaven. The tour concludes with a descent via the Bailong Elevator.

空中田园 - Afterward, proceed to Kongzhong Tianyuan. This location is a top choice for photographers, free from tourist disturbances. Most visitors miss this hidden gem, as it is not widely known and lacks guided tours. You will be thrilled to discover this secret garden within the park, the ‘Sky Field Garden’ (Kongzhong Tianyuan), a small area of paddy fields seemingly hanging on an outcrop surrounded by Zhangjiajie’s typical peaks. These fields are farmed by local ethnic people.

Zhangjiajie National Park Golden Whip Stream - Glass Bridge

Golden Whip Brook - In the morning, return to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to explore the Golden Whip Stream (Jinbianxi). This enchanting valley is likely to transport you into the Pandora’s wonderland of the movie Avatar. Enjoy a leisurely 2.5-hour hike along the stream, relaxing amidst the beautiful mountains, fresh air, and pure water.

The Grand Canyon of Zhangjiajie - After lunch, transfer to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and walk on the World’s Longest Glass Bottom Bridge. This bridge is not only the highest but also the longest glass bridge in the world, not for the faint-hearted. (The Glass Bridge is built between two mountains of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, measuring 375 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a height of 300 meters from the bottom). Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Zhangjiajie Junsheng Painting Institute - This is a place where your eyes will be dazzled. During a 30-minute tour, enjoy a unique type of art called Sandstone Painting, invented by the talented and creative local painter Li Junsheng, a respectable man with a story and a passion for art.

The subjects of most paintings are the landscapes and cultures of Zhangjiajie and western Hunan Province, making it a perfect conclusion to the trip. You may recognize the places you have visited and experienced through this wonderful local art.
