Situated in the southeast of Zhangjiajie, Shiyanping is a charming old village, boasting over 90 percent of its original vegetation and forest. At the mountain’s base, there are around 180 stilted houses constructed by the Tujia ethnic group. This historic architectural ensemble, originating from the Qing dynasty, was designated as a Key Cultural Relic under state protection in 2015. It was included in the first group of 50 traditional villages to be safeguarded by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
Lunch will be provided in the ancient village.
