Since its construction in the 9th century, the palace has had various owners and purposes, serving as a residence for the Catholic Monarchs, a court and prison for the Holy Office, and military barracks. Today, it stands as the seat of the Courts of Aragon. This palace is a vital piece of Spanish-Muslim art and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site within the “Mudejar Architecture of Aragon” complex.
