Selous GR (Nyerere National Park) is a hidden gem in Tanzania, enhancing its allure. It is one of Africa’s largest remaining wilderness areas, largely untouched by human activity, with only 8% of the park’s northern region allocated for photographic tourism.
The reserve is traversed by Tanzania’s second-largest river, the Rufiji River, creating a vibrant ecosystem. Selous is home to over 2,000 plant species and more than 350 bird and reptile species, featuring diverse wildlife including African bush elephants, hippopotamuses, lions, Cape buffaloes, Maasai giraffes, and zebras.

You will be picked up by our driver early in the morning and brought to the airport of Zanzibar. From here you will fly to the airstrip in Selous, where you will arrive a short flight after. The wildlife in Selous is waiting for you! Once you arrive you will be awaited by our driver guide. From this moment your safari adventure will start!
Don´t forget to pack your camera, as you will be surrounded by wildlife, with the National Park having one of the best wildlife densities in Tanzania!! During lunch time you will experience an authentic bush lunch in the middle of the National Park. Enjoy the second half of your game drive before you are brought back to the airstrip of Selous Game Reserve. From here you will fly back to Zanzibar, from where our driver will be waiting for you to bring you back to your hotel.
