Embark on an all-day adventure to Prison Island, a sanctuary for giant tortoises, complete with snorkeling, sunbathing and a taste of delectable seafood and seasonal fruits. The journey begins at Zanzibar Port, from where we set sail in our local motorboat towards Prison Island, or ‘CHANGUU’ as the locals call it, which translates to ‘GIANT TESTUDIAL’. After a 35-minute sea voyage, we explore the isle and its giant residents. Our expedition then continues with snorkeling off the coast of Prison Island, witnessing a dazzling spectacle of multicolored corals and exotic tropical fish. We then proceed to the beautiful Nakupenda, a serene place replete with diverse bird species, pristine white sands, and clear crystal waters. Living in this nature reserve, you’ll appreciate its rich natural habitats and the hidden gems of the Indian Ocean. Savor seasonal fruits, spend time sunbathing on the sandy beachfront, and relish our seafood lunch while basking in the tranquility of the sunbank natural resort before returning to Stone Town.
