Our journey of exploring the most significant historical and cultural landmarks of Zagreb begins at Kaptol and the tallest edifice in Croatia, the Zagreb Cathedral. As we travel towards the east, we’ll take in views of the city stadium, known as Dinamo Stadium (named after the Dinamo football team of Zagreb), the Zoo, and Maksimir park. Heading in a southerly direction, we’ll admire an array of historical structures and prominent modern designs, such as the renowned Cibona tower. Our destination on the southern edge of Zagreb is Jarun, a haven for sports and leisure. During the warm summer months, the two lakes and multiple beaches of Jarun provide a delightful retreat. Next, we will venture to Lenuci’s Horseshoe, Zagreb’s verdant heart, admired for its parks and buildings from the Secessionist and Neoclassical periods. To conclude, a leisurely walk around the Upper Town, Zagreb’s political hub, will guide us back to our starting point at Kaptol.
