Tirana - Peshtan Village
Peshtan - The day begins with a hotel pickup in Tirana, followed by a scenic drive south through picturesque countryside towards Peshtan Village. Enjoy the views of rolling hills, river valleys, and traditional Albanian settlements as the journey transitions from the capital to a more rural setting.
Upon reaching Peshtan, a charming village nestled in the mountains and steeped in history, guests will settle into a local guesthouse and enjoy a light, home-cooked lunch. The village, significant during the Greco-Italian War, still holds remnants of World War II, providing a captivating glimpse into Albania’s history.
In the afternoon, a leisurely walk through the village and its surroundings will reveal historical sites, including early battle positions and wartime artifacts from WWII.
As evening falls, relax in the tranquil atmosphere of Peshtan, savor traditional hospitality, and enjoy dinner at the guesthouse.

Hike from Peshtan to Limara Village
Albania - Trekking through Forests and Scenic Valleys
The adventure continues with an 11 km hike from Peshtan to Limara, a remote village offering stunning views of the surrounding valley and mountains. The trail winds through dense forests, with occasional breaks for panoramic views of the Deshnica River Valley and the impressive Strakavec Peak. Along the way, hikers will encounter a stone bridge built by Ali Pasha Tepelena in the 19th century, adding a historical element to the hike.

Hoshtevë - A Journey Through Pastoral Beauty
The day’s hike from Limara to Hoshteve passes through lush beech and oak forests, vibrant meadows, and the nearly deserted village of Deshnica—one of Europe’s most isolated villages. The trail offers spectacular views of the Dhembeli Mountain Range. After exploring Hoshteve, a transfer will take guests to the village of Sheper, where they will stay in a local guesthouse.

Permet - Traversing the Dhembeli Pass
The hike from Sheper to Permet offers one of the tour’s most scenic routes, with a challenging yet rewarding ascent and descent. The trail crosses the Dhembeli Pass (1,468 m), connecting two valleys and providing panoramic views of the Vjosa River and the Zagoria Valley. During the descent, a stop at the village of Leuse allows for admiration of an Orthodox Church adorned with frescoes. After an exhilarating descent, the journey concludes in Permet, known for its beautiful scenery and cultural heritage.

Permet - A Refreshing Day at the Thermal Waters
The day’s hike follows the Vjosa River, one of Europe’s last wild rivers. After a scenic road transfer, the hike begins at the Langarica Canyon and leads to the Benja Thermal Springs, where guests can relax in the naturally heated waters. These sulfuric springs are famous for their healing properties, making them the perfect place to unwind after several days of hiking.

Transfer to Gjirokastra & Explore the UNESCO City
Gjirokaster - After breakfast, the journey continues south from Përmet to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Gjirokastra. Known as the “City of Stone,” Gjirokastra is celebrated for its well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture, featuring elegant stone houses with distinctive slate roofs, narrow cobbled streets, and panoramic viewpoints.
Upon arrival, guests will explore the historic old town, wandering through its atmospheric streets and traditional neighborhoods. Highlights include a visit to the Ethnographic Museum, located in one of the city’s grand Ottoman houses, offering insights into local life, customs, and history. Visitors will also learn about notable figures from Gjirokastra, including Ismail Kadare, Albania’s most internationally acclaimed writer, whose legacy is deeply connected to the city.
Time permitting, enjoy views of the imposing Gjirokastra Fortress towering above the town, with sweeping vistas over the Drino Valley.
In the late afternoon, the journey back to Tirana begins.
