Thank you Hassan for this day - A wonderful day spent with Hassan who made us discover the road to the desert with many interesting stops. We then benefited from his knowledge of the desert to allow us to live a beautiful day with him. Discovering the desert and the dunes was superb. What kindness and generosity in sharing knowledge. Hassan is very generous and exciting.

I highly recommend going through zagora desert travel for your stays in the desert - we spent a night in the bivouac with a camel walk. Beautiful scenery, superb sunset walk. relaxation, quiet, no noise, beautiful colors. driver, mouloud, driving professional in the desert. very nice. smain and Ali and choumada, the camel. very nice. And last but not least, Rachid, the leader of the trailer, always helpful. Everyone who came home is so attentive to us.

The end does not justify the means - Traveling to the Zagora Desert from Marrakech has been an unforgettable experience. Unforgettable for the beauty of the landscape we find on arrival, the starry sky and the calm of the desert (even though we knew it is a much smaller desert than Merzouga). Unforgettable also because of the heavy travel (8-10 hours) to which is added the continued attempt to get you a little more money at each stop. We booked the trip in advance. It cost us 75€. In the minibus we met people who had paid 55 and up to 50€ hiring in their hotel or riad. So first notice: if you can, HIRE HIM THERE. Don’t worry about whether one Enterprise or another will be better or worse, in the end, they all work with the same Bus Enterprise. About private car tours I can no longer have my say. The prices do not usually include food during the journey and at the different stops, they take you to eat at places previously agreed by them, where they serve you menus of 120-150 dirhams (12-15€), a very high price in Morocco, where you can eat for 5-6€ quietly. Some places where they also seem to be in a hurry for you to leave (they expect more groups to arrive) and do not treat you very well (rare thing in Morocco where everyone is usually friendly and hospitable). Second tip: don’t follow the guide on duty for lunch, explore a bit and save money. Finally, I don’t know what it will be like in Merzouga, but in Zagora the Berbers who received us in the camp seemed a little tired of their work with the tourists. If you’re expecting a warm welcome, an unforgettable dinner full of flavor and a nightly party on top, it’s not what you’ll find. Everything is prepared and timed to spend the minimum and to bother you little. In conclusion: I think the best way to visit the desert is on your own if you have a chance. Rent a car and follow the route that marks google maps. The roads aren't as bad as you'll be led to believe, a lot of mountain bend, yes, but in good condition. You'll stop where you want and see and eat what you want. If you can’t and hire a tour, don’t hire it beforehand. Ask at your accommodation and NEGOTIATE. I don't know what private tours are like, but if you hire a group tour, be prepared to have your rooms taken out whenever you can. If you finally reach the desert, you can see the beauty of the barren landscape and sleep in the open under a sky full of stars.
