Day 1: Marrakech - Tizi-n-Tichka - Ait Ben Haddou - Zagora (375 km/ 6-hour drive).
Zagora - Begin the tour with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Travel across the High Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate via the renowned Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 meters), passing through numerous small villages and enjoying panoramic views en route to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The next stop is Ouarzazate, “The Door of The Desert,” for lunch and exploration. In the afternoon, proceed to Agdez via the Tizi-n-Tanfift path. Upon arrival in Zagora, meet your camel caravan for a ride over the sand dunes, and admire the sunset as it paints the desert sands. Then, transfer to your Sahara Desert camp just before nightfall. Settle into your private bivouac (Berber tent under the stars) in the desert of “Nekhla.” Enjoy some leisure time to explore the surrounding desert scenery. Dinner will be served under the stars, with your nomad hosts providing entertainment around a campfire with the rhythm of their tam drums.
Day 2: Zagora - Marrakech.
Zagora - Rise early to experience the magical warmth and enjoy the stunning views of the desert sunrise from the back of your camel, followed by breakfast at the camp. Ride your camel back to Zagora and meet your driver to start the return journey to Marrakech. Stop along the way for refreshments in Agdz (at your own expense) and relax at your leisure, then continue to Ouarzazate for lunch (at your own expense) and more free time. Visit Tamougalt Kasbah and soak up the atmosphere of this ancient Moroccan meeting place. In the afternoon, board your vehicle for the final journey across the High Atlas Mountains, arriving back at your Marrakech hotel/Riad in the evening.
