A Journey Made Possible by Compassionate Service - We completed the Uluru Base Walk yesterday, but unfortunately, my knee pain was aggravated by the long distance, and my friend developed a muscle strain. As we had already signed up for the Kata Tjuta & Valley of the Winds tour this afternoon (graded 4 for dynamic fitness levels), we were concerned about our ability to complete the walk—and worried that we might hold back the group, as had happened during the Uluru walk. We visited the AAT Kings counter at 9:15 am in the Ayers Rock Resort Town Square and were warmly assisted by Louise. We were truly touched by her kindness and proactive attitude. Despite the limited options available—since we had already booked the final sunrise tour for the next morning and were due to leave the resort by noon—Louise took the time to explore alternatives for us. She assured us she would inform the tour guide of my mobility concerns and see if the coach driver, who was also a qualified guide, could bring us to Walpa Gorge instead—a shorter but still scenic option graded 3, though with a rocky path. Her thoughtfulness and desire for us to still enjoy the experience at our own pace meant a lot. When we boarded the tour, Jessie, our guide, reassured us that we would be well looked after. She encouraged us to attempt the first lookout and decide from there if we felt up to continuing. Chloe, our coach driver, kindly stayed behind with us to lend her support and assess our pace. We made it to the first lookout—last in the group—but Chloe gently advised us that continuing to the second lookout, with its steeper incline, might be too challenging. She offered to bring us, and any interested tour mates, to Walpa Gorge instead. Three others chose to join us, and Chloe graciously guided us through the beautiful alternative route. We are deeply grateful to Louise, Jessie, and Chloe for going above and beyond. You could have simply told us there was no refund and left us to manage on our own. Instead, each of you took the extra step to ensure we were supported, included, and able to make the most of our time. Your kindness, empathy, and exceptional service made this trip especially meaningful. A heartfelt thank you—and a special shoutout to AAT Kings for having such dedicated and compassionate team members. You made our journey truly memorable.

Safety - We learnt it had just had time changes,I feel due to the outback temperature it should accommodate its time's. Not starting in the middle of the day!! We had a guide that thought we were on a marathon...not giving us time to enjoy the scenery and rest approiatly for the heat. One concern is that the large boulder we need to climb is not mentioned in the booking and that it has no rope or chains for safety. I do understand it is sacred but all other National Parks and unesco sites there is SAFETY ALWAYS,that we have travelled around the world. Otherwise a beautiful spot to be enjoyed at a slower pace.
