- Tatev Monastery - This 9th-century monastery was once a hub of education and spirituality in Armenia.
Perched on a high plateau in the Vorotan River gorge, it is surrounded by majestic mountains and lush forests.
- Shaki Waterfall - Shaki is renowned as one of Armenia’s most beautiful waterfalls. It is situated in the Syunik region, known for its historical and natural landmarks.
The waterfall is formed on the Shaki River, where it flows into the Vorotan, cascading into a deep gorge from a height of 18 meters. Despite its modest height, Shaki waterfall boasts a significant flow, with the sound of rushing water audible from a distance.
A legend surrounds the Shaki waterfall. It tells of a beautiful girl named Shake, who leapt from the cliff, defying the conquerors’ demands. As she fell, her dress billowed in the wind, transforming into the waterfall. In her honor, the waterfall was named Shaki.
The area around Shaki waterfall was once home to ancient civilizations, leaving their mark in rock niches and grottoes. A winding road leads to the waterfall, but visitors must leave their vehicles and proceed on foot along a narrow path.
