- Mount Aragats - Mount Aragats, standing at 4090 meters, is the highest peak in the Republic of Armenia. This four-peaked giant is a favorite among climbers. On the journey to the southern peak, Lake Kari (meaning stone lake) at an elevation of 3250 meters is the ideal stop. From the summit, one can enjoy a breathtaking view: green valleys on one side, eternal snow and silver lakes on the other, and the Biblical Mount Ararat in the distant mist of the Ararat Valley.
- Kari Lake - Lake Kari, meaning stone lake, is located on Mount Aragats at an elevation of 3250 meters. The lake is typically surrounded by snow, keeping the water perpetually cold.
- Saghmosavank Monastery - Located 5 km from Hovhanavank Monastery, on the edge of the Kasakh River canyon, the Saghmosavank Monastery was built in the 13th century by the Vachutian dukes. The main church is connected to the scriptorium, where numerous manuscripts were produced over the centuries. Saghmosavank was severely affected by the 1988 earthquake. The restoration, completed in 2000, restored the church’s beauty and splendor.
- Armenian Alphabet Monument - Situated in the village of Artashavan, at the eastern base of Mount Aragats, the Armenian Alphabet Monument was erected in 2005 to commemorate the 1600th anniversary of the creation of the Armenian alphabet. Designed by renowned Armenian architect Jim Torosyan, the monument showcases the stone carvings of 39 Armenian letters. The Armenian alphabet, created by Saint Mesrop Mashtots, an Armenian linguist and ecclesiastical leader, has been used to write the Armenian language since 405 or 406 and continues to be used today. Originally consisting of 36 letters, it was completed in the Middle Ages to make the Bible accessible to Armenians and to promote Christianity.
