Yellowknife - Our driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a sign that says “Welcome Aurora Tour VIP.” We offer 24-hour airport pickup service, so please provide your flight number. We will be at the airport to meet you based on your actual arrival time. After you collect your luggage, we will guide you to the supermarket and restaurants, showing you how to walk there before taking you to check in at either Chateau Nova or Explorer Hotel.

➡️ Traveling further increases the chance of avoiding cloud cover. However, the downsides are evident. The vehicle space is limited, and the winter temperatures in Yellowknife are very low, making the vehicle cold and uncomfortable. Passing vehicle headlights can cause significant light pollution.

❤️ We combine the best of both. Visitors can wait for the Aurora in a comfortable lodge, and on cloudy days, we can pursue the lights in different directions based on cloud cover conditions.

City Tour - (Optional Activity) - Aurora Viewing at Aurora Lodge + Aurora Hunting

Yellowknife - The Yellowknife City Tour includes the Welcome Monument, located near the airport where the first plane landed within the Arctic Circle. There’s a large “Welcome to Yellowknife” sign, perfect for photos. Next, we’ll visit the Visitor Centre to receive a complimentary Yellowknife souvenir and certificate.

Then, we’ll head to the Ice Road entrance (accessible in winter) where you can experience driving on ice over a meter thick. In March, we stop at the Ice Castle. The tour continues through the Old Town and the First Nations Reserve, offering insights into the city’s history. Finally, we’ll reach the Pilot’s Monument, the highest point in Yellowknife, providing a panoramic view of the entire city. At the base of the hill, you’ll find the famous Bullock restaurant and the most affordable Canadian Goose shop. You can choose to relax here or return to the hotel with our vehicle for rest.

Yellowknife - Aurora hunting involves taking a bus to various lakeside or roadside parking areas to wait for the Northern Lights. The advantage is the variety of photography backgrounds, and in overcast conditions, you can increase your chances of seeing the Aurora by heading to areas with thinner clouds. However, passing vehicle headlights can cause significant light pollution. Additionally, the cold winter temperatures, limited bus space, and lack of restroom facilities can make the experience uncomfortable. Our Aurora lodge offers ample space for your belongings, a warm stove, snacks, hot drinks, and hot dogs at midnight.

We combine the advantages of both, providing a comfortable lodge and the ability to chase the lights to increase the likelihood of viewing.

For early flights between 4:00 AM – 10:00 AM:
You may choose to bring your luggage with you during the Aurora viewing on the last night. After the tour ends, we can take you directly to the airport. Alternatively, you may use the hotel’s pre-arranged shuttle service to the airport. If you are staying at a homestay, please arrange your own transportation to the airport.

For flights departing between 10:00 AM – 1:00 AM:
If you require an airport transfer, please inform us of your flight details in advance. The guide will notify you of the pick-up time, and you can wait in the hotel lobby for your transfer. You may also choose to go to the airport on your own. If you are staying at a homestay and pick-up is not allowed at your location, we recommend waiting at a nearby hotel where we can pick you up.
